Just the other day I was interested in a computer that had a really good buy it now price so I emailed they seller for more info. I went back later in the day to see if any of the computers had sold and the auction was no longer listed. I then got an email from the seller telling me everything I wanted to hear. It then stated that I could pay by bank wire or Western Union. Note that the transaction was no taking place outside eBay.

I can get you the sellers email if you would like.

I'm a decent guy, hook people up with parts for free that I'm not going to use, and will even leave my house at 4am to help someone fix a broken rig. I don't claim to be a bad-ass wheeler, I just make sure my rig won't be the one stuck on the trail holding people down.

I'd like to go to the Md thing, but where i am living right now makes it about a 5 hour drive for me, that I have no desire to make with the crappy gas mileage i get right now, besides..i work on weekends as well, this being one of them.

With that being said, I only bidded the auction at fisrt with a legitamite bid to buy it, then found out the reserve was higher than i wanted.

I deleted the original thread, because it basically became hijacked.

So even though, I've volunteer my time shuttling people around in time of emergency (Such as blizzards) as well as hold doors and help people out if they ask for it, and volunteer working in an office that helps establish new businesses in low-class areas, i'm a bad person and unaccountable. I didn't say you weren't nice or that you didn't help out. My point was that in a "community" a certain level of ethical courtesy and respect are expected. In the case of EBay, you failed the ethical test. The real life examples I gave were as a reference so you can see that in each "community" there is a certain way that a good citizen is expected to act. I didn't say you failed in you real life community. Sorry if I implied that because I have no way of knowing.

OK, here's my final post on this subject (unless I read something else exceedingly stupid) You may not have meant any malice my posting your dirty deed but you did post what you did on a forum where a lot of people use ebay. You told us that you used unethical methods to falsly inflate the price of an item your roomate has on there. THEN after someone calls you on it, you try to wriggle your way out of it by saying you didn't know the reserve price and you were contemplating buying it. THEN you said you only bid 500 on it when the reserve price was 600 so the move was moot. :confused: So how did you find out what the reserve price was before hitting it, I'm assuming you asked your roomie. If you were actually interested in the item you would have asked your roomie how much he wanted for it and could have saved him the listing price. The whole point is that people are tired of getting screwed by unscrupulous traders and you just caught some of the shitstorm, deservedly.
