My mother has a friend with a 1991 Jeep Grand Wagoneer. She has recently been rejected on a SMOG. She took it today to a local shop and he quoted her $500.00 to rebuild the carb.

Does this rig have a carb or FI? It has a V8 in it. I looked in the bible and didn't find anything. What would a carb (new) cost if it has one? What would a FI assembly cost (rebuilt) if it has one?

I have not seen the rig but I am sure that she is getting ripped off. I am sure I can get this thing to pass no problem.

Jeep ever offered FI on any of their V8s until the Grand Cherokees.

It's a carbed 360. I'm sure you could find a usable carb for $50. Check the for sale postings... there's a Mark J20 or something like that that's always selling this kind of stuff.
