: Best flexing coil front setup!

Yeah yeah, I will do a search tomorrow at work when I am not on slow motion dial up.

Here is the story, I currently have a 94 YJ with 4.0 Auto, D300. full width 44 front and 9" rear with 38's. I have shackle reversal and 100" wheelbase.

I am considering swapping in a 79 bronco front 44 and coil setup. Yeah I will be probably swapping to an Atlas II to get the drop to the driver side. What is the best setup for control arms, trac arm, springs? I understand this is a general question. I want great flex (not awesome, dont want to be a ramp champ), durability and decent on road driveability. Yeah all in a perfect world. But what is out there that works and isn't going to cost me a million bucks?

Not scared to do home made jobs either, I have the technology.

In my opinion, Ford radius arms are they way to go. If you wrist one arm, you get all the flex you could dream of, with outstanding on road handling.

It's a super simple, and cheap suspension. Defintately the most bang for the buck.

Yep I have to agree, ford wristed radius arms. Check out Colby's his are killer! If I ever get an EB that's the route I'm going. Although it may be a while now....:(

BC Bronco's springs are the best in my opinion. And yes, the radius arm wristed rocks!

BTW, since you are doing a build up anyway, with 38's you may want to go with a 60. The 44 will break on you with that size tire.

These are the arms I built for my 73 EB, they have a 27degree bend to allow large tire turns. I am still working on doing a wristed arm to one of mine!

Thanks guys, well I understand the 60 upgrade but I have had great luck with stock Dana inners and outers with just a 297 joint. I know I know I just jinxed myself. I figure it will break at some point but, I was going to upgrade to warn shafts with the CTM joints. Still tossin the ideas. Appreciate the photos and the ideas.

What gears are you going with? I have a 44 from an Early Bronco that is all setup for the arms w/ 5.13's and an ARB. All is brand new (I'm going w/ a 60).

It is all stock other than gearing and locker. I really don't have details on offset and such. I am away on business, so I can't go out and measure it.

So.... what would it take to talk you out of this?
Who set up the diff and gears?
I already have the EB, so it would be a straight swap.
