i have a dana 60 that is the wrong side drop...it is out of a ford and i need it to be passenger side drop.... i know a place that will swap the tubes out for small amount of $$$. my question is can you leave the knuckles facing the rear so you have the tie rod behind the axle? i would then put an arm on the top of the king pin like that of avalanches arm ( http://www.avalancheengr.com/parts/steering/imga0103_med.jpg ). i could put the tie rod from the steering box to the axle this way. has anyone seen a setup simular to what i am talking about? is there any reason why it would not be feesible, or wouldnt work? are knuckles interchangable from side to side? and if they are would that be a better idea?
thanks for any help
you will mess up the ackerman angle and all the stuff than enables you to hav a good allignment and ride. personally i would keep the knuckles on the side they belong the way they are supposed to be. i think adamant makes high steer arms that go behind the axle get in touch with him

Just my opinion, but Id sell the ford front axle if its not what you need.. you can get a LOT of money for those, because they are rare, and you can find pass.. side drop 60's all over the place.. Just my opinion.

Aren't Ford's the only ones with high pinion's? If that is what he has/wants, selling it wouldn't be that great of an idea
