I am looking for a good 12volt air compressor for my rig. I would like to use one that works better than ARB. Does anyone no anything about the Big Red Plus 12 Volt Air Compressor? It cost $249

Thanks

Mike

I know a couple of guys who use the "Quick Air" set ups, they're cash! You know Bling... Bling...

They say they work well if you get the faster ones, I think maybe the QA II or QA III...

I use a Thomas 12volt electric compressor. Its the same one that Currie sells in there kits but I got mine seperatly :D Its rated at 1/3hp. I actually does really well. Not as good as my old serpintine AC pump did but still really good. :D O-yea and its 100% cycle duty so it can run 24-7 :D no overheating

Rockbuggy, would a compressor like you have be enough to reseat a 35" tire, if you had a decent tank? Do you have any other info on that compressor like cfm and cost?
thanks for any info,
-Jeremy

Thanks for the info. Can you tell me where I can buy one of them. All that I need is the pump, I am going to use a air tank with it so that I can rebead tires. What is the cost?

Do a search on the web, for Thomas Compressors..

I looked into this and found them fairly easily.. When I called the factory direct they were 350 or something like that with no minimum order..

will it reseat a 35? Possibly, but they are slow.. Not as slow as the Quick air II III but still pretty slow.. even with a 5 gallon tank.

Yea, probably it pumps out quite a bit of air. If you ran a 1-2 gallon air tank with it you probably could easily reseat it..

Have you seen the one at Oasis? Based on a York compressor.

If I remember correctly, big Red is about = QAII
There was an article comparing a few different ones in one of the mags.

Has anyone looked into the Blow Jax compressors (built by Gast)?

I just got this one emailed (love that industrial-application SPAM!) to me...
http://www.pumasales.com
They have Puma and Thomas brand compressors, online shopping, all that. Prices aren't wholesale, but they'll sell just one unit direct... so maybe this'll help somebody out.
