there is no more funnay on this board.

simply because when someone DOES make a funnay, the thread usually sinks into oblivion rather than having others contribute to the funnay snowball that someone started rolling down the funnay snowhill. the majority of shitshat readers are getting selfish in that they search for the funnay, possibly giggle to themselves at one once they find it, close the thread, and then continue to look for more funnay without giving any funnay back, or without continuing to add to the funnay they just witnessed.

it's all ME ME ME. everyone takes the funnay from the few that give it, and don't give any back in return.

sure, some people "bring teh funnay" in the form of posting a ha ha link they saw on the web, by half assed slamming someone by quoting them and twisting their words, or by posting a picture they received via e-mail... but that's the weakest form of "bringing teh funnay", so the majority of the funnay seekers take and do not give back.

this, in turn, has not motivated the usual funnay makers. it gives them NO incentive to keep producing the funnay. what good is it to tell jokes if the crowd merely chuckles quietly in their head, then moves on to the next stage where someone is trying hard to bring the funnay.

it's a vicious circle that nobody cares to break by being creative and adding their own. oh, and merely text based funnays suck.

We could always do one of those games where one person says/types a word and the next person has to say another word and you make a sentence or story. Or we could play that game "my grandmother is going on a trip and in her bag I packed..." Then you list things. First item starts with and A, second item with a B until you get through the alphabet. Or if someone has a webcam, we can play I spy.

My mother puts out a bunch of fake spiders around her front door at halloween. We have to call first, this time of year, so she can hide them, or my kids won't go past them on the way in the door... :)

Kind of nice having my parents two blocks away. Kids get to know and hang out with the gparents. They actually *like* going to her house. I never really *enjoyed* going to visit my grandparents....

Having the kids close to the gparents is a big reason I turned down the DC job, well, that, and not wanting to raise my kids in/around DC... ;)
