The hunt for the perfect seat continues, so far my options are the 35 dollar Summit plastic seats or this 259 dollar Beard seat that requires a 100 dollar bracket.

I really like the styling of the Beard seat and the cutouts for the shoulder straps, this is the style I want are there any out there in a more reasonable price range?

Trying to save the $$$ for the cage, rocker guards, diff guards and the OBA.

Thanks,

late '80's RX-7 seats. They take a little adapting, but they work. They have real good latteral support. Measure your mounts and go to a "you-pull-it" yard and find some seats you like. Hear is what the finished product looks like.

Thanks for the RX-7 tip, I have found several seats like that but none that will place the shoulder straps in the correct place below the shoulder.

I have been talking to BEARD and they recommend the Street-AT if you want to retain the Shoulder Belt and the SUPER-AT if you want to use a 5 point Harness. I am still undecided......$$$ is an issue to me.

I have the Recaro SRD seats. I went with their bracket kit and sliders, and had the croch belt hole cut. I am very happy. I tried many differnt seats before buying these, but I wanted comfort. Some seats felt like you were sitting on a frame with bread sacks for filler.

I'm with Rockbuggy. Grab some Prelude seats from the Pick-n-Pull for $15 each. You can't go wrong with them. Installed mine about a month ago and am pleased as punch with them.

We run the Baja ss ($147.00 type) in our rails and we run those harder than you will ever run a 4x4 and they work great and they are easy to mount (see the four tabs!).

Thow some Mid 80s Volvo seats in. Someones got to be parting one of them out. Bought mine for $50.00 for the Pair. Sold my plastic racing seats for $75.00. Besides and you can run the shoulder straps thru the head rest. I had the plastics for 8 years before I switched them out. I should of done it 8 years ago. Good luck and :flipoff2: :flipoff2: :flipoff2:

I have dodge dakota buckets in my CJ right now. They are comfortable, and have arm rests. The passenger seat folds up clear to the dash. I gots to give em the boot though, because I do not run a top on the Jeep (just a bikini top) and I live in Washington. I get wet and muddy often, and it just soaks into the seat and takes forever to dry out. I'm going to have to put plastic or vinel seats, or waterproof covers on. Also when I go to install a 4 point harness, I believe the backs of the seats are way too tall. Anyhow, when I change the seats out I am going to do like the above have mentioned and get them from a two seater in the bone yard. Fabrigate it!!! That way you can say "yeah, I created that", instead of saying, "I just grabbed my ankles for $700 for those".

Hey guys, I had these in my *shutters* Honda Civic. They're awesome, really supportive seats. They've got great side bolstering on 'em. Corbeau makes brackets to fit just about every vehicle, including Jeeps, but most of you could probably fabricate your own. They were only used for about 3 months. I have pictures of them installed in my Civic at http://www.milesmedia.net/caraudio/images/civic/corbeau/ and you can also check them out at www.corbeau.com. I'll sell them for $450 if you pick them up, $525 if I need to ship them. I'm in the Northern Virginia area. Reply here or give me an email at es.pea.elh@home.com
Thanks, Alex.
PS: next week i'll be out of town, without 'net access, so I won't be able to respond to e-mails.

Ok fella's, here is a question of you larger than normal people.

I am 6' 4" and weigh in at 260. I played college football and am just a generally a big glob of goo LOL (not really, but at times I feel like it)

Well which of these seats is good for a large guy?

The seats in my Grand are getting a little worn out (three trips up the Alaska Canadian highway, tend to were shit out LOL)

I don't give a hoot about direct bolt in, I can run the buzz box.

Alaska, I run the Corbeau Ultra's. They are the same as the SS's but they are 2" wider than normal. I am probably a little "wider" than you. (6' 260#) They seam to fit my fat ass pretty well!
