Will a CJ-7 hardtop fit on a YJ?:question:

Yes. You'll need to do some trimming around the windshield mounts for the YJ rollbar, but other than that it's a bolt-on. CJ hard doors fit too.

I am storing a 1990 YJ top on my 1982 CJ-7 for a friend of mine. The problem that I ran into was that the rear hatch on a YJ is designed to be closed first and then the swing door is supposed to be closed. This does not allow you to latch the CJ's rear door though. Also, the lip that sticks up and angles towards that inside of the Jeep is a little to tall for the YJ rear hatch door. Also, you will need to drill holes in the windshield frame for the small screws that go into the top. However, if you have cured those problems then you are all set to drop the hardtop, bolt it down, and drive off.
