Wife is due middle of next month. Started having contractions about an hour ago. 3 min apart,20-25 sec long.

Is there any way to get this to stop or slow down???

When is it time to worry and rush to the hosp????

Grateful newbie

Yep, go. My wife had Emma three months early in may. A month early is a walk in the park ;)

Good luck and report back. Hope you got the wall paper hung!

Its their job...they get called all the time! I would concern myself with the well being of my wife and baby...not with upsetting someone you might wake up. :roxy:

Thanks for the help. She made it through the night ok.She is still asleep.

Heres the thing,We both want to wait as long as we can before going to the hospital because she doesnt want to lay there and suffer for hours in a uncomfortable bed in a strange room with wires coming out of every hole she has. I respect her decision. The reason I posted here instead of just running to the phone and dialing 911 is I thought some of the people who had kids alrewady may have gone through this. It was going on for an hour and I was sick of pacing with nothing to do but write down times, and looking like a cool potato in front of her while I was freaking out behind her. I thought the contractions were supposed to start far apart and work there way to being close together. She out of nowhere says she had 3 in the last 10 min and it doesnt seem right. If we had run to the er we would still be there with absolutely nothing going on.

Thanks again for the help and I will let you all know how it goes
Dave

Glad to hear everything went well first off...

And second , Alot of people have complications and if you want to balance your wife and childs health on the opinion of a bunch of hillbillies then you go right ahead landuseorc.. A few hrs at the doctors for them to say everything is ok,, then to wait and have something horriblly wrong happen Is a small price to pay for my families Health and safety.. landuserorc:rolleyes: :flipoff2:

Did you call the Dr to give them a heads up? She should be at least be checked. If she is dialating, and you don't know it, you could be delivering the baby in the car.

I'm 14 weeks. I started having contractions last week. Braxton hicks or not, if I have 4 in an hour, I go to the hospital. Some babies come early. My 1st one, 2 weeks early. My second one 1 month early. Get checked......better safe that sorry.

She has been fine, Thanks for asking. The doc said it was probably the head dropping into place which means time is running out. She had a couple today but not in a pattern like last night. She says he's not kicking her in the ribs anymore either:D

If you don't want to call the doctor in the middle of the night, you can still call the hospital where she is going to deliver. There is always someone awake to answer the phone and usually it's a delivery RN or LVN. They'll decide if the doctor needs to be called or not, and they'll make the call, if necessary. Then you have the satisfaction of getting an answer you trust and not having to wake anyone up for it.

Glad everythings calmed down now. Good Luck.

Sounds like Braxton Hicks contractions but dude..call the doc next time...thats why your going to be paying him thousands of $$ :D

BTW..son was born 3 weeks early with no problems at all so don't sweat the timing
