93 Wrangler (assume 35C rear) - Friends callin...
Jack rear up and can move attached tire in and out half an inch or more (moves opposite tire too)!!!.
Grease coming out from wheel bearing seal and spraying tire/rim/drums.
Before pulling it apart what parts should I have him buy - Its still drivable, just kinda loud.
Street only rig w/140K miles. 4.0 w/5 spd unknown R/P.

Also, is there any tricks to gettin the C clip off for axle removal?

thnx,
CRAIG

but OK:

pull diff cover, pull spidy pin, pull tire, pull drum, leave brakes, push axle in, pull c-clip, pull axle, pull seal, pull bearing, put in bearing, put in seal, finish.

Disclaimer: This is my ex. from an XJ.

EDIT: DOH!!!.

Just replaced my seal for inspection last month.;)

EDIT: I remember now...I didn't have to pull them, I pulled all of the brakes etc., thinking it was like a d44 but much to my displeasure I didn't need to.

You are correct as always Nate.:flipoff2: :(

just did it all today on my 35. you need a 12 point 1/4th inch wrench to pull the bolt that holds the center pin...then drop the center pen out. push the axle in and grab the c clip and then pull the axle out. or just read a haynes manual which even has pretty pictures .....its mega simple.....getting the gear oil back in while leaveing the axle on the jeep with the stupid gas tank right in front of the diff was fun....

Use some spare fuel hose, it helps with this.

more than two inches of lift generally fixes that gas tank problem :flipoff2:
