Are the hubs from a 70 and a 14 bolt interchangeable?
And are there any 70 dual rear wheel axles? What would they have come in?
I am looking for a set of hubs for a 14bolt cab and chassis, and have heard that 70s will interchange with 14s, but I need ones with the same distance from the outer flange mounting surface, to the WMS.
I have an idea about using the cab and chassis hubs on a full width 14 (67" WMS to WMS). The full width I can find MUCH cheaper around here, and this combo may put the backing plate mount in a better place for rear disc brackets (vs. being ~3" too far towards the center) and put the WMS to WMS at 63"..

Chevy ran 70s in the back of some dooleys, but I don't know if they were ever in a cab and chassis.

I' m pretty sure the hubs are different
they also take different bolt patterns 14 bolt is larger using a half inch bolt compared to a 7/16 bolt Dana 70 style
the bud type flange on the axle is different also between dana 70 and 14 bolt axles
i have never heard of people using different hubs on different spindles
I am sure the 14 bolt spindle is larger though
14 bolt cab and chasis hubs are everywhere
at least out here they are

Well, I found out , for certain.......no "I think" , that the 70 or 60 hubs do not interchange with the 14 bolt ones, and it's because of the axle flange pattern. The 70/60 has a larger diameter to the bolt pattern.
The outer bearings are exactly the same, and the inner bearings have the same bore, but the 70s are .03" larger at the OD (but that wouldn't matter). The seals are exactly the same. So it appears the spindles are the same.
The reason I was wondering, is that I need some 14 bolt cab and chassis hubs (they have a distance of 4" from the axle flange mounting surface to the wheel mounting surface--this distance and just changing the placement of the backing plate mount are the only difference, really, between the SRW 14 bolts and the C& C 14 bolts), and I had heard the D70 hubs would fit the bill. And they are easier to find around here.
So anyway, does anyone have any cab and chassis hubs they want to part with?

Well, when you have one person saying they will work, and another saying they are pretty sure they won't. I think it's wise to keep searching to find out.
