yes it is, I got some lit from the early 60' showing a really odd looking elongated 40, I'll dig it up. This isn't the one I was thinking of but......http://pic4.picturetrail.com/VOL55/691553/1150078/36259476.jpg http://pic4.picturetrail.com/VOL55/691553/1150078/36259472.jpg

TLC sold 1 to a guy in northern California, they put the body on a streched 1965 (i think) fj45 frame. The one in the picture is in there show room.

Personally, I think that the Bezels look a little goofy. I don't care much for the square headlights.

As far as 80k for the dual cab Bandy that Jonathan Ward built. I think that's HIS personal ride.
However, from looking at tlc's Cruiser sales page, 70-80k for a restored/modernized cruiser is right in line with his prices. The Bandy that he built, IIRC, was a bandy body on a Tacoma frame/motor/axles/IFS . Cool concept, IMHO. Unfortunaly that one was discarded in favor of the FJCruiser... Sons-Of-bitches...

I thought Johathan told me they did 3 of the crew cab pickups, he has one, Toyota has one and one was sold.........But I might be wrong...

He Built 3, 1 was sold, the other body was put on a tacoma chasis, and is in his show room and the 3rd was his personal truck. the one toyota has was not a truck, it was an extended 40 version.

I was told they made three also. I was trying to purchase a body and rear doors to make one of these, I was told that they could no longer get the parts? or that they were to much $$$?

I checked with two auto importers here in California, about importing one of the 4 door trucks, and both of them said that the would not touch any vehicle that comes from south america. You can find them on EBAY brazil all of the time, it's just getting them here that seems impossible.

MapQuest??? PSHAW! That would take the fun RIGHT out of it.
Get some crude maps of the area. And a credit card with a $10,000 limit (somehow pay cash for the truck). That's it. No GPS no cell phone. No modern maps. I thnk it would be the adventure of a lifetime.
