: Front Drive shaft Problems

i just put a 6" lift on my 79 chevy with a dana 60 on it.
Here is the problem, i have a 4sp manual transmition so my front drive shaft is about a foot and a half long. the drive angle will not reach to the yoke of my D60. i looked at the U joint from the Xcase and it looks like some bump stomps / limiter nubs on the front drive shaft to keep it from dropping to far down. i probably have to grind these off to make it reach, but when i get my truck offroad and get some flex out of it, it looks like it will still break something since my driveshaft is so short and the drop angle will be to great. has anyone else had this problem? or know a fix for it?

And i know i need to get my driveshaft lengthened, but this will not fix the problem i am talking about.

You will bind once to start going up. Here's what we did to solve our problem when we had the k5 on 44's with a mated t-case.

custom front drive shaft which required a machined piece ,welded to the drive shaft which has threaded bolt holes that bolt to a flange with ears which connect to another flange with ears with a u-joint of small size It's only a 3R . It also has a couple of spacers.
It gives you close to a 60 degree angle. With a mated T-case this rocks. Did not break a front driveshaft with this system since

The two 3r flanges are machined to abe able to slip into each other . The 2 spacers, just cut the ears off those weak cv 3rs.

You need to machine one piece that will bolt the flange and fit into the driveshaft tube to be welded

This helps me out alot...well kinda couse i have no clue what you are talking about on this. but i have alot of offroading friends that can prolly translate this for me. I am new to offroading getting to know alot, but i guess i still have lots to learn. There are only 2 chevy owners in our group, so its a learning process for everyone with all the problems that are coming around.
