I am looking for a long rubber brakeline that will fit the banjo type of caliper into a 3/16 hardline.. I know I can easily get braided lines, but I have eaten way too many on the toy stuff
Thanks

If you have Chevy or Wagoneer calipers get lines from a '78 Chevy 1/2 or 3/4 ton pickup. They're about 23" long and have the right fitting for 3/16" hard line.

How about something shorter? Like the stock Toyota setup where the flex line is about 8" and goes from the caliper to the housing instead of the caliper to the frame like Chevys.

But then you are talking about a mess of stuff, i prefer to keep my junk simple...

I have a pictire that I downloaded from this site a long time ago of a rear D60 with Chevy 3/4 ton rotors that has a really short flex line. I liked the way it was setup, but now I can't remember who's set up it was. Maybe someone with a red star can post it here so we can find out what the part number is for the flex line.

Are these Braided or stock rubber? I might put this on my rear conversion.....

Its a factory aplication, so it should be rubber. I hope to get to the parts house tommorow to actually find out for myself, and I assume its a 2wd aplication..

The only thing is that they have a male thread so you need to convert it if you are not putting them through the frame like on a Chevy.

I am in the process of doing this right now..

I used stock front rubber brake lines for a camero or montecarlo..

The stock chevy ones work just fine as well there nto to long at all..

That's it. There is a female thread that you can't see in that picture which accepts the hard line. I used a large nut on that male thread to secure the line to the tab attached to the frame instead of the e-clip. I seem to remember paying only about $28 or $29 for mine though at Car Quest. That $52 seems pretty steep.

Yup, those are the lines.. I paid 35 a piece, and that was with the good guy discount i get since we buy alot of parts thru them(carquest). They are roughly 23" long, which is a buthair longer than the toy extended POS braided lines...

I am running custom length steel braided from the caliper to a new self custom hardline that runs along the top of the backside of the axle tube towards the middle. Then I am running steelbraided up to a homegrown bracket and over to the hardlines again. I only have to compensate for the max travel at the center of my axle which is a lot less than the outers. :D

Just my .02! TIGGER4X

Thats how my rear is setup, but I will never run braided CRAP again, have broken 3 lines over the course of about 6 years, they are far weaker than rubber ones...
