: Asking for prayers...
A few of you know trixie and I..
I Figured I'd post this here to keep you up to date..
Trixie hasn't been feeling so well for about a week, with nausia, cramps, and flu like symptoms.. We're pretty concerned as she fought and won against uterin cancer in 99 and relapsed last year and won again.
Well, this morning she started having excrutiating pain in her lower right side (by her appendix) so she went to the hospital. They checked her in because the Dr could tell something was wrong but he was unsure if it was appendix, gall bladder, etc without running some tests. The pain has been so bad they've had to put her on morphine doses every couple hours. Initial tests showed appendix seemed ok, which - history considered is bothersome. We were kinda hoping it was going to be a simple appendix removal and all would be better. I'm pretty much in the dumps right now, hoping for something other than the worst.
They did CT scan and blood work - we should know what's up tomorrow.
I'll update you all here tomorrow as we find out what's going on. If any of you pray to some higher being I beg you to pray for us on this one as we could use all the help we can get.
At this point, she's in the hospital overnight, and they won't release her till they figure it out.
Sorry to bother any of you who could care less...
:(

rusted 10-22-2003, 11:15 PM Prayer said. My cousin had a BURST appendix for 30 hours before he got his dumb butt to the hospital. He could have died, but medical science has really nailed that beast. He recovered fully and the Dr said it's not that unusual.
So hopefully, it's something like that and it's an easy fix. Keep up your strenghth!
2drnkecv 10-22-2003, 11:16 PM Best wishes. My 6 yr. old spent three days in ICU with a cracked skull about three weeks ago and now I can't keep her from jumping off the furniture. They thought they were going to have to do brain surgery. I'M GLAD THEY DIDN'T.
Dave C 10-22-2003, 11:26 PM keeping my fingers crossed for you, hope all turns out well in the morning
DozerDan 10-23-2003, 12:16 AM My mother had a burst apendix a few years back, she is stuborn and refused to go to the doctor until it was almost too late. They realized the problem and went in to remove it and the Doc fucked up and cut up her stomach muscles wrong. Now she has a mess patch where her stomach muscles should be.
Fucking doctors
Best luck

MKBruin 10-24-2003, 01:47 AM you are both in my prayers as well.
beyondhelp 10-24-2003, 06:21 AM Will do.
I went through something very similar although slightly less serious. 3 mri sessions later and a bunch of tests = nothing. Then they found out I didn't have ins. Gave me antibiotics and told me to let them know if it didn't get better. It did but the $12,000 in bills just made it painful elsewhere.

Bobzooki 10-24-2003, 07:36 AM TTT - Any word JT?
Bit of an Update for y'all...
Trixie might have appendicitis. Which is a good thing considering her history.
(I won't make you read his entire rant as most of you don't know what hospital he's talking about anyway and those that do probablly have access to the forum he posted this on.)
Now they are saying her white blood count is not high enough to be indicative of appendicitis ('itis' meaning inflamation). They want a infectious disease / GI specialist to see her and investigate for diverticulolsis / itis (infection/swelling of diverticulum - the little pouches on your lower intestine) - conveniently something that is hard to diagnose and requires many tests and can have many differing causes and cures.
(Excerpt from a posting on the Midwest Jeepthing Members Forum)
She is still in the hospitals and will remain in my prayers.
