Iv'e was given a rack that was made by a fellow club member out here, but I don't have the rain gutter mounts. They are a con-ferr mount, but an old style. I was told they came with the old port hole racks which were fully welded. I'm sent an email to con-ferr asking about the availability of them, and a waiting for a response. Any body know who else might have them?

here is a picture I found with the particular mount's I need, whoever the picture is of, thanks

NRS (http://www.nrscatalog.com/product.asp?pfid=3200)

This is what I use one my square tube racks and I also have some round cross bars too. The same base adapts for a round tube. They are light, easy to adjust and work great. Not too spendy either.

The bull dog clamps wont work. I need a clamp that is more vertical like the one in the pic. The bulldog ones actually go up, then angle in and I can't use those. Thanks for doing the research tho.

alright. The guy I got the rack from, used to have a really old porthole roof rack that came on an FJ55 he bought. he ended up selling the rack, but kept the mounts. He built a small rack for his 60, basically just a tire / hilift mount, which he designed to use the mounts he got off the 55. Mabye the pic is not right. I sent him the pic asking if those mounts were right, and he said yes. So at some point conferr made a mount that mounted to the rain gutter, and went straight up. The rack would then bolt on to the side of these. The mounts do no go under the rack, they more or less go next to the rack.

Does any of this make sense? My broke ass needs to go out and buy a digi then I know I would :D

Thanks again.

I have 4 bulldog mounts lying around if you want them, $30? They will work fine, you don't need those vertical mounts, all you have to do is drill another hole moved inwards. I would probably even prefer the bulldog ones, they're STRONG.

I do appreciate you help.

The rack I have is kinda goofy. Basically all it is is 2 bars that run across the roof, to which a tire mount is affixed. Under the tire is a place to mount a hi lift. That's all I really need, a place to put my damn spare tire. It fit's underneath, but it looks like my truck is taking a big crap. Then when I go wheeling I gotta take it out and stow it in the back cause it hangs down to low. So then It takes me like 3 weeks to put it back, meanwhile it sits back there hopping around and making noise.

Are you going with 35's SUA, or are you SOA? I'm gonna be working on 35's SUA pretty quick here. I think I'll I gotta do is a little bit of fender trimming and they will fit real nicely.

I'm running the 2.5 TPI with a 1" Roger Brown Body lift (which kick's a$$). So fitting 35's ain't too much of a streach. Just for shit's and giggles I might go over to my buddies and see how his 36" sx's fit :D I've got 4:10's I got out of a 62 for some work I helped do, and an aussie I put in a week and a half ago. Got to try out that locker on the trail last weekend. Sweet.

My original intent with the body lift was to rid myself of rubbin. Gave me much more clearance than I needed, so my fender wells look kinda empty :D , gotta fill em right?

The clamps in the pic are Con-Ferr with a piece of flat stock welded to the back, for the added height. It didn't hold up too well to snagging a tree at Tellico. The weld at the rack busted.
