How strong do you think they are compared to a
Dana 60, I am thinking of putting them under my
FJ40 that way I can get disc brakes from Mini-truck axle put a ARB in the front or buy a
Dana 60, which would be better for the money I don't want to spend the money twice if the Cruiser
axle won't hold up.

why don't you compare a 22r to a 454, that would be about as acurate as trying to compare a super birf to a 60, the 60 will win hands down, BUT do you really need that much axle? are you breaking birfs that badly?

DSI; I agree comparing the two is not equal, but like you say how much axle do I really need? I have not broken any Birfields yet but I would like
to avoid it altogether if possible so the Super
Birfield might be a solution, I'm just trying to
find the best way to spend my money, I can do the
mods to my Cruiser axle for less than buying a bare D60 I'm just trying to figure out would be
best in the long run.

well if your not breaking birfs get a set of em and get your disc's on...
doing a front 60 would also mean swapping rear axles too!, and at 370? a set do you kow how many you would have to break to equal a bare 60 let alone build one?

the two don't compare because regardless of how strong the joint is it is still attached to a 30 spline axle.

Bought a set today, so we'll see.
Cool thing is, it's the last set I'll have to buy.
