Anybody notice the orange and white Scout II in Stephen Kings' "Dreamcatcher"? They rolled it into the trees. Cool rollover.

Stephen King has a thing for IHs. I recall reading in one of his books a radio call, something to the effect of, "Suspect driving an International..."

The movies love mashing IH's. The Rock movie 'Rundown' has a scout 800 in it briefly. They drop a water tower on it.:(

They just like bashin old cars.

Anyone seen rat race, where they string that bronco up the radar tower, then drop it like 20 feet.
If they were in an IH, that wouldnt have happened, cause the weight of the engine alone would crumple the tower.

Or how about the khaki commercial where three guys are headin to a party in an old blazer and jump off a cliff into the party.

Play tough with them, get at least 20 bucks per day for it. Insist on free food for yourself while you are there also

I know someone in LA who has been renting cars to the studios since the 70's. If it is a high budget movie they will pay bucks for the right vehicle. You can determine this by finding out who the director is and who's starring in the movie. Some directors are very anal and must have the right vehicle regardless of price.

A studio paying hundreds of dollars a day is not uncommon, just let them know that you need to be on the set to keep the IH running in case there are problems.

Sorry, the studio just called. I sent them pics of my rig in Hooper, and they decided to go with my rig, since it already has *acting* experience... ;)

BTW, watched dreamcatcher last night. Movie was pretty good. Looks like the Scout wasn't in too bad of shape after the roll. I think I did more damage to mine on the trail this weekend than they did in that roll...
