I went to a convention for rural fire departments today at the state forestry commission thinking that there was to be an auction for the vehicles they had laying around in the yard. Apparently I missed the auction about a week back. The worst part was hearing the prices of some of the vehicles that were sold.
Running M37 - $50
Running M715 - $100
Running 1985 Chevy K30 Crew Cab SRW - $150
Running 2 1/2 ton 6x6 - $100
The highest price of any vehicle that was sold was $400 for a running 5 ton 6x6 and the only reason it was so high was the water pump used for forest fires. I won't miss the next auction; a chance to score 2 trucks with good bodies and 1 ton drivetrain for under $500 combined can't be passed up.
