What should I torque them to. I usually tighten bolts until one of them strips and then back off for the rest. I don't want to do this on the locks!

I have MRT beadlocks. They say to torque 12-15 lbs. I go to 14lbs in a cross pattern. Also, it is very important that you run through the pattern at least 3 times because the torque on the first bolts will reduce as you tighten the last. I found it helpful to number the bolts with a sharpie. This made the job go ALOT faster, and you won't lose track of the last bolt you tightened. Be sure to re-check the torque on a regular basis. The job is tedious and time consuming, so have a <IMG SRC="smilies/beer.gif" border="0"> <IMG SRC="smilies/biggrin.gif" border="0">

May I suggest 10 lbs if you plan on much high speed driving. My first set of beadlocks I torqued them to 20 lbs and went for a spin on the road and the tire expanded and I spit 3 bolts (sheered) per wheel.

Total PITA. I called MTR and they told me to back it down to 10 psi and I have never had a problem since.
