Hey all, since there is such a small Nissan community around here, I decided to stop by.

I am currently doing a solid axle swap (Toyota Hilux front axle) and also replacing my old turbocharged Z24 engine on my 93 Nissan Hardbody.

I started this project 2 months ago and already am 1 or 2 weeks away of completing it. Some shots taken las Friday are those beneath.

The conversion is posted here : http://www.geocities.com/jpvmlichttotobal/SASconversion.html

Thanks bro, just a problem of availabilty. Here in Chile we have only new Pathys wearing the VG33E and the VQ35DE, but no wrecked ones to look into. Also the DOHC 3.2 V6 Isuzu pumps 190Hp in comparison to the 170 Hp of the VG33E. It's friend's Trooper installing a 350 TBI, so he sold me the V6 + tranny for a very good price.
Anyways that V6 bolts into a Nissan like it was made for it.

Nice to meet ya again Tim. Yeah after a couple of outings I discovered I was sh**tin' outside the can with IFS. It takes a lot of time & money, but this is the "final cut".-

How about your portal axles ? Last time I saw your truck's body was over the Unimog's frame but never saw it finished .. is it finally done ?

Wassup bradah Matt :flipoff2: , how about that bobbed KC ?? Already recvered form the German Fever ahahahahah ?? :D

Regards the angle, really don't know. I'm fighting to lower those angles since I see the them too high. Part of this reason is that I will go down with the 3" BL and relocate the engine mounts and crossmember supporting the tranny.

Wassup bradah Matt. How's your bobbed KC ?
ASlready recovered form the "german fever" ...

Regards the angles, really don't know, but the engine mounts willbe relocated and the 3" BL will go down to minimize those angles. ;)

JP, get some new rear springs! Those lift blocks in the back and those little stubby shackles ain't cuttin' it! More arch, more shackle, less block, less axlewrap

Hey DR , whats up bro ? ;)
I know man, but I'm on a tight budget this far. I have many proyects to finish it the right way like :

-New arched rear leaf springs
-Rear disc bake conversion usign my front rotors
-Front coilovers (King)

As long as the pinion nut is pointed at the TC output you should be golden.

My SAS is coming along, not as quickly as I wanted it too but you gotta work to pay for it all. I'm running the standard D44 up front, everything else in the drivetrain is Nissan. Detriots and 5.14 front and rear.

German, hell I forgot everything except how to order a beer.

Cool I gotta see pics of that sled ... Here it is more popular to find Toy Hilux diesel front axles instead of Danas (we have them also up to D60or 70s). They also have 4.88 R&P factory and, grab your pants, my HB came with 4.875 R&P so it is perfectly compatible with the Hilux front axle.-

Your gearing is gonna suck big time when you get done.

I'm running that same engine/tranny/t-case setup(minus the tera-lows), but with 5.38's instead of 4.88's. I've got 33's now and will be stepping up to 35's soon. You'll probably be able to live with the 4.88's and 35's, but you'll be suffering from some power loss and a lot of clutch slippage.

I'd vote for a 'yota rear swap, then throw in some 5.29's.

Great swap though, looking good so far.

Thanks a lot for your comment Chris.
Will finish it , test is for a while (remember I'm coming out of a 4 cilinder - turbo engine , making more or less the same power and using same 4.88 gears with 35" tires for a couple of years) and then will see if a gear swap might be reasonable, as you say. I don't wanna cruise at 60 mph @ 6.000 rpm in 5th on the highway too  . Luckily, Nissan rear axle has 5.29 gears available too.

where are you finding 5.29s for the H233B? I think you might be mistaken.

Maybe he thought 5.142 :

or 5.571 or 5.875 ....

haha, you're the one who said it...

Rodeo_Chris said 5.29s for Yota axles, but you, JP said 5.29s for the Nissan axles. Just a typeo on your part i guess, judging from your response.
