that thing is sweet...i wish toyota would get off their asses and get with the modern market of fullsizes.
now if we can just get the imports to put a good diesel into a 3/4+ truck they would be great.
Well speaking of diesels, we have down here, many interesting turbo diesels:
Toyota Hilux 4x4 with a 3.0 Turbo diesel four
Nissan Frontier 4x4 and Xtrail 4x4 with 2.5 Turbodiesel with 133 Hp
Nissan Frontier 4x4 with 3.0 Turbodiesel and 150 Hp
Nissan Patrol with 3.0 Turbodiesel and 150 Hp
Suzuki Grand Nomade Common Rail Turbodiesel
Mazda 2.9 Turbodiesel with 115 Hp, etc.
Some other Koreans like Ssang Yong, Hyundai Terracan, etc. that also have many nice diesels.-
But, I'm really not a diesel driver, you have to change your driving manners in every direction. And the extra buying cost of buying a turbo diesel over the gasoline model , if you don't drive over 30.000 miles/ year it doesn't pay. My 4x4 is not a daily driver.

I drive a Ford Powerstroke turbo-diesel every day and tow with it. I love my diesel.. I just want the imports (Nissan, Toyota, etc.) to import the diesels that they sent to other countries. Or possibly come out with a new one specifically for the fullsize truck market here in the US.
I wish we got some of the stuff (cruisers with diesels, the 70 series, Nissan Patrols, etc) that some of the other countries got.

Well its pretty interesting since we have all brands present (so its extemely competitive) but the volume is small taking into account that we are 16 million people only. All out trucks Nissan, Toyotas, Mazda, Suzukis, etc. are Japenese market models so many Diesels and 4 cilinders around and less V6 and V8s present, except US models.
As far as off roading , we have lots, lots of unspoiled places.
Check this for example :

Normally 50% of the people can do along in English, but don't expect a twin language country. Our Mid Region of Chile is (where our capital city Santiago is) , seen as for climate and looks, like the LA area.-
Recently Chile's biggest Computing Corp. company got fused to Intel Capital to develope systems, etc. for South/Latin America area.-

Love the photo's.... the one of the Jeep coming up on the rocks, looked like TEXAS! :)
I was looking at the Nissan Pathfinder Armada -- that sucker listed a 9100# tow capacity! I'm a long time Nissan guy, bought the Chevy Crew Cab for towing the Land Cruiser... hmm, looks like that Armada might be interesting (temp gauge for the tranny is a nice touch!). With four kids, dog, camping gear and towing capacity... it was going to be a Suburban... hmmm. Prices are right on Suburban/Tahoe mark... I suspect a better resell value than a 'burban?

We hide in the closet. :)
First vehicle.... 1971 Datsun 510, bought it in 1974 for $750 while pumping gas for $2.50/hour.
Only if Nissan would bring in a turbo'd diesel Patrol. :)
Tom :usa:
Cool , my first one was a '78 510 ... ahahaha
Regards the Patrols, we have them here 4.8 Dohc 6 in line (250 Hp) and the 3.0 Turbodiesel 4, direect injection rated at 150 Hp. I still hang on with the 4.8 however.
A peek of a local dealer last year :

That last one was a giant piece of shit. It was lifted by using giant drop brackets for everything. The one just above that just had a bling bling paintjob with brown tint, and all in all im not that impressed by the Titan, and I think heavy duty pickups should be left to Americans. But thats just me. Enjoy the pics :flipoff2:

SR5DAVE it's interesting you say leave full size pickups to the American manufacturers but I have a little inside scoop for you since I work at Jaguar's North American Headquarters(owned by Ford) and we have the Ford Network broadcasting every day. Almost everytime they have the new F150 on they also talk about the Titan, today they had a 10-15 minute presentation on just about the Titan and it's features and I can tell you from the sound of it Ford KNOWS Nissan built the truck right and will give them serious competition. One factor Nissan will need to get by is the loyalty to a Ford, Chevy or Dodge truck a lot of Americans have but Nissan's first Fullsize truck is giving Ford something to talk and worry about...not bad for their first effort.
I live in LA, the place where probly 99 percent of the fullsize trucks are lifted with a cheesy drop bracket lift or some ungodly expensive drop spindles. I think the owners of the majority of the lifted trucks around here, never go off road, let alone go rock wheeling. This being the case, what makes the last picture, a giant piece of shit? It is if you want a hardcore wheeler, but Nissan doesn't build it's trucks to be used for that. The lift and the entire auto show, is aimed at the mass market, not the puny percentile that goes wheeling. I like that rig, it looks just as killer as any full size rig with a lift. And since looks are everything in the mass market, that rig will sell Titans!

Yeah... first truck was an 81' Datsun extended cab, 4x4, 5-speed. Fixed it up to be the best looking Rotsun in town though.
I think that Titan is kinda growing on me though... dunno.

I see why the Nissan forum was accidentaly deleted now.
FSRBIKER- I never said it was a bad truck. I think that American companies really need all the business they can get. And putting more trucks into the market doesnt help that. Good for Nissan producing a good truck, our family had a nissan once, it was a good little truck. I'd rather see Ford, my favorite company get as much business as they can.

I agree as well we need to buy American as much as we can and I have been a Ford guy for a long, long time as well....but Nissan builds it's trucks in the US and while they are opening new plants in the US(Toyota as well) to build thier new vehicles Ford and GM are shutting the doors all around the US so it's not a bad thing to buy a Nissan or Toyota as you are putting money into the American Auto workers pockets.

Amen, my brother keeps giving me crap about buying my Tennesse-built Nissan. Says I should buy American. His last three trucks were Dodges produced in Mexico...

Ok, American pride is fine and all, but if you buy a unreliable (even though they've been getting better over the years) American brand car over a reliable import, it's just telling the american manufacturers that they can get away with building crap because it'll still sell. But if you actually buy the better of the two vehicles, and it happens to be the import you choose, then the American company will have to step it up a bit if sales decrease. It's competition, we need it or else we'd still be driving model T's.
Note: not trying to start an import vs. american war, both have their goods and bads.

He forgot to mention the 4.2TD Patrol motor....
my first truck, a 1987 FJ60. Next truck a 1967 patrol...the Patrol is and was better.
Don't go knocking Nissan, they been making cars since 1934 and the Patrol came out in 1950. The new Patrol is the same as all SUV's, the days of function in a 4wd are long gone. Give me a 2004 Ute P-troll with a 4.2TD, 5spd with Rock Hoppers and full lockers any day over any TLC. As for full size left to us Yanks, BS I say...Chevy, Dodge, Ford are full of problems. Bring on the Full Size imports built to last!
