: 1st test pics!! Workin the D90
Rover Addiction 12-13-2001, 02:27 PM Ok, I went out over lunch and took some pics. Roggy just put on new rear trailing arms and new front shocks. New beadlocked 37s fit pretty well except for a little bit on the front that needs trimming and quite a bit on the rear.

Hmm.. this picture is a bit out of focus, but turn it right 90 degrees and you can see that it's a pic of my right front suspension.
New shock hoop, new spring, and new shock..

Whew.. anyone know how we can post multiple pictures on one post? I know, host them somewhere else.. but without doing that, is it possible?

cbassett 12-13-2001, 02:43 PM ass-kicken D90!
What're the specs (ends, length etc.) on those arms? Did Roggy build them? They still use the c-bushing attachment to the axle?
What mfr wheels/locks are those?

Yeah what he said. I dig the all white beadlocks. BAD ASS!!
Rover Addiction 12-13-2001, 02:50 PM Those arms are the Safari Gard "earless" trailing arms that I got used from RockRover aka Doug. I had Roggy mount them and he improved on the mounting to the frame, integrating them with the rock sliders.
The tires are 37" SSRs on Stockton Wheel custom 15x10 beadlocks with a 4.25" offset. These are tough wheels!! The centers are 3/8" thick!!
I had them at 30 psi for these pics because I just had to drive it on the highway a ways. I can't wait to see how they perform aired down!

Bgcj5 12-13-2001, 03:30 PM Cool looking rig man nice job. I like seeing Rovers there anren't to many around here
Rover Addiction 12-13-2001, 03:34 PM Dude, you're right down the street from Rovers North and East Coast Rovers! They're both in Vermont. I would expect there to be quite a few of 'em running around there in the North East!
40_Bones 12-13-2001, 03:48 PM Man that thing looks great!!!!!
One of the nicest Rovers I've seen.
BTW I was wondering If anyone has seen my kids Bike? It's white with green handlebars.
VT_Toy 12-13-2001, 03:52 PM How wide are those 37s? They look wider than 12.5 ???
Don't see many hardcore Rovers around, even though there's some dealers nearby. Went on a run with the Yankee Toys a few weeks ago and there was a nice 110 and an older Rover there.
Rover Addiction 12-13-2001, 04:01 PM 37x12.50R15 SSRs. They're wider than most because most people that run 12.50s run an 8" rim, but I have 10" rims. I was contemplating running the 37x13 boggers or some 36x15 or something. Then I need the 10" rim. I think it'll work well on these too though.

roverhybrids 12-13-2001, 10:03 PM Nice John
Are you going to the chili challenge?
Do you want/need some trimming tips?
Why did you decide against the boggers?
fatkid 12-13-2001, 10:17 PM Looks nice, you should go wheeling at the Hammers on Jan 18th-21st.:)
tigger4x 12-13-2001, 11:13 PM RIGHT AWWWN!! I haven't seen many Rovers I like, BUT yours is by far the best out there!! It looks like you are gonne GET IT good! I was gonna go with black beadlocks, but after seeing your I think I just might change my mind. Do they do 16" 8 lug? What part of Cali are you in? I am from S. CA originally and am looking for some better trails when I get back to visit. BTW, I am really interested in the snorkel you're running. Could you possibly put up or email me some pics?? If you go, have some fun GETTIN IT at the Hammers.:D THANX, Keith aka TIGGER4X

I love the 110s. I wish I could find/afford one. Last year I ran across a Defender 110 for sale. The guy wanted $38k.
Sillyneck 12-14-2001, 01:32 AM easy on the air down for the first few trips because they will get destroyed. Don;t go less than 15 psi because they will fall apart....keep them around there the first few trips then drop them to 10 and 8. Mine fell apart because I aired down to 8 psi the first trip :D Shhhh to interco :D
ehsankiani 12-14-2001, 02:00 AM Hey man... Nice Rover.... That certainly is one of the best I ever saw.. I am sure it would look even better with that top off...

Good job John...I'm glad to see you got the links to work. Did you have to remove your aux. tank to get them to work? I especially like the reinforcment/slider tie in. Might have to incorporate that trick into my creation. BTW, if you haven't already, you should let the 90 list know that you've got pics of the 37's mounted and working.
You coming down/over for the Cruses Chile Challenge 2002?

Rover Addiction 12-14-2001, 09:18 AM I'll be in San Antonio starting February through May and I'm hoping to get time off to head over to the Chile Challenge from there. Uncle Sam can be a cruel master sometimes so we'll see if I can actually do it.
RockRover: Unfortunately, I had to lose the auxillary fuel tank in order to make this suspension fit. However, I'm thinking about either re-using the tank on my D110 or selling it off. And I think I'm going to look into doing another custom tank under the D90 using that filler that I already added. Possible a flat tank in the load bed, approximately 3-4" thick, braced so it'll serve as the floor. How does that sound?
Fatkid: I don't think I'm going to make the Hammers because I have to be here in town on Friday the 18th. Darnit!!! If you can stick around a couple extra days, I'll be on the road starting the 21st. Also, I'll be looking for stuff to wheel that week and the next weekend on my way to San Antonio. I just have to be there by January 30th.
Sillyneck: I'll definitely keep that in mind. Do you think that making my first few runs as snow runs will kill those SSRs? I was really hoping to air down to around 5 psi for the snow on Saturday. Maybe I could drive it around here this afternoon for a bit aired down a little to flex the tires.
Teabag: I could always use tips on how to better my rig! I know there are people out there with some awesome ideas!! What do you suggest? I'm actually planning on trimming the rear fenderwells out about 3 inches at the bottom, narrowing up past the fuel fillers, and going to the factory fender top. I can't go any higher without tubbing the bed. Not that I haven't thought about it!!

Well if you want to register you might want to do it soon...There's a bunch of crazy arsed 90 owners that are heading down and are trying to get on the same run's...Hence all the app's are going in via one package...Sumptin' to consider anyway...
About the tank...Sure you could fab a cell put it in the bed. Or you could cut out the floor of the bed and drop a 10 gal Jeg's down on top of the center x-member...That would leave you approx 4" x 17" x 16" in your load space.

I don't know about the best, You should see the project rigs on SafariGard's website! www.safarigard.com Also, RockRover is doing his up right with Dana 60 front and Dana 70 rear. That thing will kick my ass all over the rocks!
Call up Stockton wheel for the beadlocks. www.stocktonwheel.com They'll make just about anything you want. And they're QUALITY!!! The only thing I have to do is to get the lug holes countersunk because I forgot to ask them to do that.
I'm in Northern cali, between SF and Sac. About 2-2.5 hours from the Rubicon!!!
I'll have to take some pics of the snorkel, but it's from Mantec, a brit company. Came on my 90 since I bought it used. You might try some of the rover suppliers in the US: www.roveraccessories.com, www.roversnorth.com, www.atlanticbritish.com, www.roversdownsouth.com.

bertha 12-14-2001, 11:07 AM Nice fawking rig! I have said this before, if for some reason my runner ever goes away, a D90 will be my next vehicle. I love those things. Unless of course a D110 is cheaper  hahahaha I make myself laugh, cheaper than a D90:D
