: ox locker and dana 60 issues????
Whaley Enterprises 10-27-2003, 04:50 PM i am installing a ox locker in a gm front 60 and it doesnt fit....
the bolts that hold the case together on the end opposite the ring gear hit the bearing cap boss.. i removed the lock washers to gain more clearance but i still need more,, tried to get ahold of someone at ox but with no luck,, was given some guy at 4wheeparts to call and he suggusted just grinding the housing and bearing cap( which i will prolly do) just wondering if anyone else had this issue.. or a better solution other then get an arb and throw ox in the thrash:mad:
SeaBass44 10-27-2003, 05:24 PM I think Ox went Belly Up, & no longer in production. Not 100%, I'll do a quick search and post back if I find any info.

I heard that Ox moved to a larger location so that they could increase production, but they were hard to get ahold of during the move so people assumed they went under. That might be bullshit though, I read it on some 4x4 board.
SeaBass44 10-27-2003, 05:59 PM here are a bunch of threads, hope they help

Sounds like bad advise that will end of voiding the warrenty???
kwrangln 10-27-2003, 06:47 PM Every OX install I've read about involves some grinding inside the diff casting. The instructions for my 44 OX show where to grind and how much, but I dont know if the 60 model is the same way. From what your saying, it probably is. I never got around to installing mine, going with something different, so I dont have first hand experience, just what I read on the net and in the instructions. Good luck.
