Give Lou at Elias 4wd (http://www.elias4wdcenter.com/index.html) call. I'm not sure if he sells them or not, but he's in MA.

I bought mine from Matkins and had it trucked to the door. Either way you are going to have trucking unless you go pick it up.

I bought mine direct this August, and it was free shipping August so I saved the shipping $660 to CT. You might concider waiting till they have that special again. And of course it didn't get shipped to my door I had to get it from the shipper, but it was only a couple of miles from my house and on my way home from work.

"Matkin's frames are junk, they don't fit, and nobody there has a clue."

Is this what you meant to say?

Nice now your a spelling checker. The frame i have in the shop has some issues. Like the Radiator mount bieng 1.5 in. low and the rear 2 mount's bieng .5 in. to low other than that it is over built. and beefy as hell but when you have to tell a customer you have to make spacer or send it back. it become's JUNK. And when you call and they can't explain why it fit that way other then send it back and we will see what's up it's Junk.

2 grand
Are you nuts? I spent about $200 on all the box steel and it took me 2 days to make mine and its built just like theres,,, I took a tape to a stock MB frame and after geting the #`s I drawed it up and then made the side rails out of MDF to check for fit up,,, then coldsawed 2x4" box for the front and back and used 2x5" for the center area, If you need pics let me now,,,,,,, and best of all I can make the frame how I want it ,, I`m adding 10" in the hood and 10" in the center of the body.

Did you see THIS THREAD (http://www.pirate4x4.com/forum/showthread.php?s=&threadid=217248&highlight=Matkins) discussing Matkins vs AFW vs homebuilt? I'd save the cash and build one.

O.K I'll speak up. I have a Matkins stage III that was custom built for a CJ6. I say custom because they did not, at that time make frames for a CJ6. I gave them my measurements and what I got was on the money. I am happy with my frame. As previously stated, it is way overbuilt, but that was what I was looking for when I got it. Now I would build my own and save the cash, but at the time I had no idea how to fabricate anything. ( almost two years ago, or yesterday depending on who you talk to ) If I were to start over now, I would build my own stricktly due to the cost. I like the frame I have, but I could make it for MUCH less myself now that I have all the stuff to do it. Do yourself the favor and plan your whole project before you buy!!! It is very hard to justify cutting into a $$$$ frame to do modifications for axles, sliders, etc. that could have been done at the factory.

not that you're asking, but I bought some AFW frame rails for a
cj7, and they aren't bent correctly, and they have zero customer
service for frame specs. yeah, I know those "STOCK" frame
specs on out there on the net, but AFW's frame is all 2x4 tube,
not 2x4x3x2.5"-whatever-different-width.......

so, end result is the customer is the only resource for figuring out
how far to bend your new frame rails to the so-called "correct-
dimension"...............

mine has very little issues with it. i like it alot beefy as hell. i ask them if i had a problem how we handle it and they told me they will have me take it to a local welder and they will pay them for the work. the only real problems i had was body fit only in the rear :flipoff2:

After reading hte link to the other thread... I've come up with one opinion.

Both companies produce shitty product.

Any company that asks you to spit out 2-3k for a frame, that promptly requires some "fine tuning" to make it all work. Produces a shitty product IMO.

I'm in the build your own camp... your going ot get EXACTLY what you want.
