Should be a 4.0 some rangers have 3.0s, but I have never seen one in an exploder before.

I've heard of it being called "Cologne" (the family of engines that also includes the 2.8L and 2.9L).

You lookin' for something similar to how GM calls their engines "Vortec 5300" etc.?

I don't think any such marketing gimmicks were ever applied to these engines. Its just the Ford 4.0L V6 (usually referred to as the OHV motor since the SOHC 4.0L was released).

Yup yup. No specific name. OHV's are vin "x".. Cologne family, but the general public was never told.. wasn't like a marketing gimmick.
