I already know about the gear ratio tobockle with this things and the fact that they put so many different damn gears in the 44's.

Either way I have a solid lead on two axles from one donor rig.

I dont know the year.
I dont know the engine other than it is a V8.
The tranny is automatic (727 I assume)
And I assume that the T-Case is a D300.

I am looking for two axles to swap into either my MJ or my YJ for projects that I want to do. I am going to switch to a gear driven D300 for the MJ project and put it behind at least an AX15 five speed or possible a better tranny if I can find one.

What is the WMS distance on these scout 44 axles?

This Jeep has a good engine in it, and it has three good pieces of glass in the removeable hard top, and it has two good doors and a good tailgate. I will be dismantling the rig for the axles and D300 only. Everything else will goto Junk Yard unless some one on here wants the good parts mentioned. Frame looks decent too... No Title.

Anyone within driving distance of Washington PA that would like to have the parts e-mail me amswor1@amswor.com and come help me yank the stuff I need, and you can have the stuff that you need, and the rest is junked.

I will want a little bit of cash to help pay the guy for what we take.

First of all, a Scout is an INTERNATIONAL HARVESTER, not a Jeep ya fawkhead.
All the rest of the info is readily available... SEARCH for it

Dude'
You already have this thing listed in the "for sale section", now you're saying you " have a solid lead" on it?

How the fawk can you sell something you don't have as yet

If you can't even determine the year why do you think it has a Dana 300.
Do you even know if it's a Scout II or Scout 800

please step away from the INTERNATIONAL scout!!!!!

but if you must find out what it is first  before you ask such assinine questions

even if it is a d300 you cnat use it in a jeep  --and in PA the scout d300 aint good for nothing but a freaking paper weight --however i do have a bumb leg on teh table i am putting in my new garage --so if thats what it is i'll pick it up to save you from scraping ti and use it as a giant shim

Too bad I won't be there to laugh at your dumb ass when you try and bolt that 300 up and discover that there really is a difference between an IH and a Heep.

Well since everyone else is busting your balls i'll just help.....

If you do use the axles out of the scout you will need to adapt the scout kinifler pins onto the jeep, advance adapters makes a kit for this, but it is still under serious development, so you will need to call and ask directly about the "scout kinifler pin adapter"... most people not into scouts don't even know this part exists..... if you don't believe me go into the jeep forum and post about it, and i'm sure the other jeepers that have performed this swap will explain it to you, i tried a search in there and found nothing, so you will have to post......

edit: make sure EVERYONE from the scout board checks out his page, www.amswor.com there are some awesome technical pictures of his jeeps sitting on his lawn as well as a bunch of technical red "x"s and some very excellent tech links that go nowhere

Wow sign me up for one of his Off-Road tours!!!!! I'd love to get stuck in BFE and have to resort to canablism when his basicly stock cherokee bottoms out.

From the website:
AMSWOR JEEP TECH

A Complete site containing information on different Jeep Vehicles and modifications.

A "complete" site with a picture of a Cherokee only two working links... one to a picture of a Comanche with a caption, and the other to a pic of a Wrangler with a caption. Yup, that's pretty complete..... sums up about all there is to say about Jeep.

Dude, Jeeps make good scout parts. Not the other way around. And if you honestly dont know teh difference then how do you expect to know what your building. Oh and the scout kinifler pin adapter is a must to make the axles fit onto a jeep. Wihtout it youll have outrageous amounts of side to side sway of the axle. Has somethign to do with the U bolts and that plate on the axles.

Why he has this on hsi site i do not know

and with all that photoshop crap, i wonder how much of teh jeep is real? do ntoe the muffler is rusty in thsi picture but like the one of the tailpipe you cna see the nice new shiny stock muffler.
do note my baby bronco is bigger

we should respect this guys right to be a total moron, and accept that as adults.

By the way this was my favorite part of his site:

"This is it. It is finally here. The 2002 Jeep Liberty will hit the show room floor this summer and took Jeep into a new era."

Bwaaaaaaahahahaha, Mr. Great at the Web doesnt know what "update" means. I hope its one of those new Trail Rated 4x4's:rolleyes:

I love this BBS.

You guys crack me up too... It is amazing how you all can make such a comic of my life. I never knew that my life was so funny and interesting at the same time.

As for the reference of a Scout being a "Jeep" I figured before I ever posted that I would stir up some sh!t here with that statement.

As for the other stuff, I own the rig now. I picked it up Monday and hauled the rusty heap of Harvester to my place and started to tear it down. There is really not much on the thing that is salvageable. The body skin sides actually fell all the way down to the ground while it was being lifted up on to the trailer with a skid loader.

I dont claim to be a Scout expert by any means, and after searching some of the websites that are out there that I was told to look at I did not find much better information that you guys claim to find on my site.

As for this rig, I cant find a vin plate or a gvw decal that might indicate the year of the vehicle. I have realized that there is not a Dana 300 in the thing and I have also found out info from some one who stated that Scouts only had D300's one year, 1980. Maby some one can verify that.

As for my personal website, that is all that it is, that is all that it ever was, and when it was on a host server that used to sit in my dorm room at college it was a cool personal site. I moved the site a few years ago and have not done jack with it since. I am not afraid to admit that I dont know jack about HTML. The XJ picture is four years old, and I have grown alot and learned alot about my vehicles and about many other vehicles and continue to learn more.

I hope that you guys had as much fun with flaming my post as I did reading over the stuff that you all wrote.

Now if I were to post a few questions would I get answers?? or more flaming??

What is the WMS on a Scout 44?? Is it different between the Scout II and the Scout 800??

Where would I find a vin plate or a gvw decal or stamp that might tell me what year this thing is??

Anyone interested in this V8?? It has next to no value to me, so I am sure that some one out there would take it off my hands?? I will throw in the tranny and T-Case to if you want?? Real Cheap!!

It has two good doors and three good pieces of glass and a tail gate that is useable too I think.

Sorry that I am so dumb too!!

Life is a learning experience I suppose, and as for those who made reference to my hike, there are plenty of online photos, and an online journal, look real hard all you cyberwheelers and you will find it.

It is nice to know that my real life does not exist on an internet forum.

It is nice to know that my real life does not exist on an internet forum. Dana 300 only came on 1980 SII. IIRC Scout D44 WMS-WMS is 58". And the VIN plate and load tag are/should be(unless removed) on the passanger and driver door jambs.
