: Childhood memories of Haloween
APRILRAZZ 10-29-2003, 09:23 PM As to not hijack the other thread. What is your best childhiid memories.
Mine was how my friend and I would go trick or treating on horseback. The people loved it and we would spend an average of about 10 mins. at each house. Always netted extra candy and usually a few carrots for the horses from most people.
Ive got pictures of me at maybe 2 or 3 years old going around to houses on my uncles sholders demanding candy.
My uncle is s huge bohemoth musclebound type guy. They kinda remind me of masterblaster from madmax beyond thunderdome.
I remember trying to get the costume on over the snow suit
Haole 10-29-2003, 09:33 PM I remember getting twice as much candy as my sister, even though she's four years younger than me (and it didn't matter how sute her costume was.) Beggar's night was always on my birthday and I made sure that each house knew it.

hahahaha Yeah I have some of the same memories from back in the 70's when I was a kid in Michigan. In my old hood it was really neat. about every 10-20 house one of the neighbors would have their garage opened up and a mini party going on with Aple cider and some accelerant added for the parrents.
Down here it sucks. Nobody is into it. Hate to say it but we didn't even carve a pumpkin this year.
Im convinced the cold makes it better ;) Hard to get into halloween when it's 80 degrees.
APRILRAZZ 10-29-2003, 09:36 PM I remember those cheap plastic costumes with the damn rubber band strap that would break right before you went out:D
Roxywheels 10-29-2003, 09:45 PM I have very vague memories of being a little dutch girl. Long before I was ever born my Dad got these beautiful hand carved wooden shoes and I loved to wear them. I was only allowed to wear them around the house so I wouldn't mess them up, but once them finally fit me I was allowed to wear them for Halloween. I might have been maybe 5 at the time and I remember thinking I was SO cool. I also remember the shoes hurting a lot and my Dad carrying me home. :) My Dad never did much with us, so that memory of him carrying me home from trick or treating really stands out in my mind. :) :roxy:
dd113 10-29-2003, 10:00 PM I remember sitting at my moms makeup table while she made me up as a hobo. I bet I was 6. I was spiderman one year. My favorite memory was hiding in the bushes and ambushing the little kids with eggs and shaving cream. I was about 12 then,
Chister 10-29-2003, 10:02 PM The fact that Halloween night has a better than 70% chance of snowing ... and is usually the first snow of the year here.

Wow, I would have liked to seen you wear those shoes long before you were born.... :p ;) :D
I remember the year I was a dice. I wore this huge box covered in white contact paper and big black dots. I looked really cool. However it was hard to get up to the door a time or two being so big. I took out my fair share of kids that night... :D

I was a rubix cube one year!!! OMG it was so hard to get on the bus that day!
Frankie_Bones 10-30-2003, 09:57 AM When I was a child all the adults would misspell Halloween! It made me really mad, I would say "It's Halloween not Haloween!" but they never got it! OH WELL!
:flipoff2:
luv4low 10-30-2003, 08:38 PM my most vivid memory was the last time i went trick-or-treating. rang the door bell & got "arent you a little old for this?". i think i was 13 or 14 at the time. last house and last time i ever went again.
I'm trying to get my mom to give a few kids some good Halloween memories. but she won't do it. I mean its not like her taking her eyes out is any big deal for her. :D

When I was older I remember stadning there getting candy while my friends lit a huge smoke bomb off behind me and ran. I barely got away myself, thanks for the warning guys  :D
Same year some Asian lady wouldn't give us candy cuz "You too old. No candy. Too old". Her house got egged
One year...my dad's friend's wife got the idea to make a costumer of Aladdin for me, and her youngest daughter was Jasmine. It was cold that night..
Went as The Mask, everything was detailed even down to the yellow suit.!!
