Don't know about 2 vs 4 wd but 3/4 ton calipers seem to have more power from my experince.

This must be a trick question. As far as I know all dana 44 calipers were on the front so it would be a 4wd.I don't know of a factory rear 44 with disks. And Chevy never had a rear 44 at all.As far a 3/4 ton and 1/2 ton I'm not sure if one is stronger than the other.3/4 tons used a bigger rotor so it should be a little stronger.Blazin:rasta:

Try thinkin for a second, I asked about 4wheel drive dana 44's, you do realize that there were 10 bolts and dana 60's but I don't care about those calipers that is why I specified dana 44.:rolleyes:

Who said anything about rear calipers either, do you always talk sh!t when you don't know the answer to a question, it doesn't make you any smarter:p
BTW there not the same but I found out you can grind enough off the casting to make them stop interfering with the knuckle.

Sorry, I don't know the ans. to your question. I believe all 1/2 and 3/4 4x4 calipers are the same (10 or 44). Not that this helps you. I am curious as to what you were refering to in the above quote, though.

The casting on the 2wd caliper (the side towards the knuckle) has enough extra material that you can grind it down so both bolt holes line up. Only the upper one will go without grinding.
Thanks for the real answer:)

Hey Fuelin, before you make another ridiculous comment why don't you tell me what part of the question was "dumb ass". I put Dana 44 in quotes so you would know the model of frontend since their was several, I thought I made it pretty simple. Try givin me a serious answer if you have any actual knowledge on the subject.

Hey sawzall I don't know if you were saying I was talking shit or not.But I was just goofing and miss read the question.Anyway why would you want to use 2wd calipers and do extra work to get them to fit when 4wd ones are cheaply had?Blazin:rasta:

I only wanted to use 2wd calipers because they are what I had. Looks like one of them is blown anyway so now so I'm just gonna go get new ones. I have found out that they are the same internals but the 2wd calipers have more casting on the side towards the knuckle.
