I'm Planning on finally welding the new perches on my 44 today and rolling it under my rig. my problem is how to set up the pinion angle on it. I'm also doing a full drivetrain swap and dont have the engine tranny or tcase located yet. so what is a safe angle to set it at to start with. i'm probably gonna just weld the pads on good enough to stay until everything is done, but i do need to have an aproximate setting to at least get close. what do you guys think i should do?

i think it would be best to have the t-case in. or just tack it to hold the rig up. burning the pads on not knowing for sure does'nt make a lot of sense to me. unless you luck up and get em right you will have to burn em off and re-weld.

Well what is the vehicle and how much lift do you have (suspension lift not body lift :p)? I have an extra-cab toy with about 4" of lift. I set up my pinion to be up 14 degrees. This is in addition to the 6 degrees of positive caster that is spec for this axle. Have you addressed the caster angle first? Shouldn't this be a question of "how far do I rotate my knuckles?" If you are putting your spring perches wherever you please then what's happening with your caster?
