Ok well, short of not being able to get the FS 1986 bronco to run smooth and pass state emmisions, then I should be picking up the FS soon.

So for now I am planning what I will be needing. Currently I plan to run the engine/tranny/transfer case as one whole unit. I know I will need to fab up another radiator (or use the old one somehow), engine mounts (or make an adaptor to use the B2 like I have heard), headers (I can get some used headman headers for ranger v8 swap cheap), and driveshaft connections to the current 7.5 and D28 (i will upgrade in phases).

I have heard about the engine mount adaptor using 1/2 plate and the old 2.9 mounts. Does anyone have any info on this.

Headman headers im looking at are used, but are solid and have surface rust but are very cheap ($40 shipped to me!).

Anything else I need to plan for? I am ready for all the info you have that isnt on Matts website (which ihave studied at length).

The motor and tranny will fit fine, but the stock tranny, either 208, 13-45, or 13-56 will probably hit the frame. I know bobby walter ran a ford 208 in his ranger, and he had to offset it to one side. I believe he has a jeep 208 in it now.

However, the radius arms mount a little different on a BII, so it might fit.

jp gett with matt and les on rrorc, they know the 2.9 trick for motor mounts,

and i think the tcase is to wide for the b2 frame, is it the 1356?

it takes less offsetting for the case in the b2, but its still a cockhead...

start with fresh mounts though, a body lift will make it a bit easier to pull the tranny all the time till you have enough money to build it good. he he, optimistic lil bastard aint i.

transdapt and perma cool have the good oilfilter adapter, get the one just for ford swaps, got part #'s somewhere.

besides heaterbox mods and shifter type.....your bout good to get started

any other tips out there??? Oh ya it is the AOD and 1345 transfer case. It looks wide, but not terribly so. Im hoping to pull the engine soon and do some minor work on it (cam, bearings and anything else I run into).

Anyone in Utah done this Swap? If so let me know how you got around the crappy emmissions stuff.
