Yeah ya gotta love shit like that....Like when my alarm arms itself and locks the doors (keyless entry) if you disconnect then reconnect the battery. Excellent feature especially if your keys are in the seat, the doors are closed, and the windows are up.

Even more fun when you are in another city with a rental car and late for a meeting <ask me how I know>

A vehicle I just recently purchased has this stupid feature. Its tech but relevant to the subject at hand, how the hell do I disengage this unecessary feature?

I have no idea. 'spose it's a part programed into the alarm system. Not sure if you can disable it....

They had instruction manuals for my alarm sitting on a shelf at my dealer so i picked one up. It was programmable. Kind of crazy, had to cycle the key, open and shut the door, push the alarm button untill the taillights flash, bla bla bla..... But I was able to dis-able the arming beep and the damn "autolock".

Must be a Ford thing.. Jeff, Kevin and I got locked out of his Super Duty in Farmington when the clicker didn't un-click the doors cause the keys were in the ignition. Luckily he left the window cracked and we got in with a piece of rebar I found in the parking lot.

I fawking HATE it when things try to out-think me. Autolocking doors? If I want the damn doors locked, I'll do it myself. Yes, the button to lock them all is quite nice, but don't do it for me, Mr. Car!

My dads Super Duty's passenger side locks don't unlock with the clicker anymore.
