sceep 11-06-2003, 07:44 AM fake as hell.
Haveing ridden a bike over 150 multiple times i can tell you that it is waaaaaaaaaaayy faster than that. about 135 the dotted lines on the highway become a solid line.
I'd guess whatever video the choped into the "background" never got over 95 mph/

I think it's in slow motion. The bike does not sound like it's revving to 11,000 rpm either. Plus the wind noise is really bad over 135.
ShawnM 11-06-2003, 07:51 AM I dunno but I think it is legit. A stock Busa will run 190mph easily right out of the box. I have taken my bike to 170mph many times, but I didn't have time to look at the lines to see what they look like at that speed! :flipoff2:
Oh yeah supposedly this bike is turbo'ed.

I am fully aware of the busa being capable of running at that speed. But that gauge cluster is shot on a stand. and the video is edited in. or playing on a projector in front of it.
sceep 11-06-2003, 07:56 AM after watching it a few more times i regress. by watching the reflection in the gauges it certainly appears to be real. while i still dont believe the speed figures, a wheelstand was surely pulled off.
Chemical442 11-06-2003, 08:03 AM its pretty easy to get into those clusters and change out the speedo background. i could make my zx-9 look like its going 400mph if i wanted to.

Cue-Ball 11-07-2003, 07:31 PM The speed looks about right for the speedometer to showKilometers per hour. that would make the lines on the road be about right.

Nope, if you look close on the inside of the guage is KM. Its in miles, but I think that either the speedo was tampered with or the cut-out with the numbers on it switched out.

*EDIT* in case your a moron 35%
LandCroozer 11-08-2003, 12:25 AM Is that the interstate in Florida? I did that road a couple years back, and it sure does look like it.. I was only going about 75 and I kept my front wheel on the ground so it looked a little different.
Why can't it be real? A motorcycle that goes ~240? Vesco ran a motorcycle over 250mph way back in 1970..

Sillyneck 11-14-2003, 07:04 PM a stock busa goes 220mph w/ the 185mph gov defeated.
that is real. very real.
my bike, when it was geared stock, tacked 185 mph. This is somewhat accurate. maybe 180 actual mph. yea it's fast and things get skinnier but that's to the human eye. to the camera it's the same shit just faster.
Busa is a 1300 cc machine. it was/may still be the fastest top speed production bike.
be afraid, be very afraid! :D
jslamerman 11-14-2003, 07:18 PM BS, looky here, that speedo drive was either electronically increased via a wrong sprocket input, or mechanically. He is still speeding up when the speedo stops at 220. You freeks need to really pay attention when that instrument goes past 140 for real......... Youd get a whole lot more vibration through the steering head than that as well due to irreguarities in the road, wind, driver input, even in PERFECT conditions. If it makes ya feel better you can believe it though!!:flipoff2:
Sillyneck 11-14-2003, 07:20 PM THE SPEEDO STOPS AT 220 from the factory smart man!
you have no clue what you are talking about
EDIT: OMG I can't believe how much jslamamanindaass has pissed me off. I need to mellow out but I'm not gonna. He must have done that on purpose because that ignorant of a statment is not likely developed by rational thought.
F-CK.
where to start
rider input???? you ever rode a bike w/ a steering stabilizer? A good one? well it takes alot of effort to turn the clip ons! at 220 you're tucked behind the windscreen and there's not much force on ya. plus he has a double bubble windscreen that allows for a good clean tuck.
street imperfections???? you ever rode a busa???? it's like a cady ( a f-cking fast cady) WHen I hit 185 on my bike I was ON the raised reflectors in the middle of the road. did I feel them???? NO!
going too fast
A 20 mph wind wouldn't even affect you at the speed except as a head wind...which would slow down less of a bike.
f-ck...since this is an edit I can't see what other knownothing fag bullshit you wrote
:sillyneck: f-ck off fag :sillyneck:

Actually acording to the General Theroy of Relativity the Faster you go the small you get. Thats kinda freaky. :flipoff2:
SR5Dave 11-14-2003, 07:32 PM Forget the bike, that chick is fawkin hawt!
4runner 11-14-2003, 08:00 PM Sorry, I have to call bullshit here too...why doe sthe speedo needle move so smoothly on this bike? I've NEVER seen a speedo needle NOT jerk when shifting gears or even when he dropped down from the wheelie....
the other thing that bothers me it that he goes from zero to 220 in like 20 seconds?
I vote for modified speedo drive...it is just too smooth.
Sillyneck 11-14-2003, 08:44 PM the speedo is not modded. it's electronic. not meant to be jerky like a car.
you guys can call all the BS you want but the fact of the matter is you haven't ridden like that nor have you ridden a busa....and until you do your opinion is worth dick :D f-ck u very much!

Easy does it.
:flipoff2:
RedNeckRea 11-15-2003, 12:02 AM I got a vid of a busa with the same gauge cluster. no where near as smooth as this one, but still up there in speed. anyone know where I can host the vid?
TexasBlake 11-15-2003, 04:13 AM that's fucking awesome.
chevy91 11-15-2003, 06:52 AM KPH! is all I'm going to say...
AzWebMan 11-15-2003, 07:56 AM Uhh. Isn't the speedo sensor still on the front wheel (I don't know, just going off of every bike that I have owned)?
If the speedo sensor is on the front wheel, then how can the speedo STILL be showing acceleration when it's off the ground. Sure the bike may continue to accelerate, however the front tire is going to start slowing down.

Lowrangerider 11-15-2003, 08:52 AM I was just going 174 on my speedo of my Kawasaki 636 (stock) on tuesday and it seemed like the ground and roads were going by faster then this guys video shows. I mean it says he is going well above 200 and when he passes a turn around on the highway it doesnt even go by that fast.
For the guy who commented and said that there would be more head shake or vibration then there was, get off your Harley and try a SS bike. Even without a steering damper I can go top speed and it feels smooth as silk except for if you are diggin a corner and hit a good sized crack and that can give you some squiggle. This guy was going in a staight line, why wouldnt it be smooth.
I would guess that he has changed his sprocket gearing and not recalibrated his speedo. Just like when we offroaders change tire size it messes up our speedo's unless we change the speedo gear. He was most likely only going 170 or so when it said 210 and that is why it looks like he keeps excellerating past that point. A Stock busa will go fast but to make a 200mph busa takes more then removing the restricter. I know the speedo may say well above 200 but put a GPS unit on it or radar and then tell me how fast he was going.
