did you leave room for a winch?

offroader1006
11-06-2003, 03:18 PM
nah, im gonna make a reciever hitch off the bottom, then i can use it front or rear.

for now, I just tell people only Jeeps need those.:flipoff2:

yeah, they are coming.

i was about to weld em on and my pinion went out, so it hasnt been back to the shop.

what i like the most is it mounts flush to the crossmember, so i dont lose any of the stock approach angle

I really like the bumper man.

Like T1H5_TA3 said it's just a few clevis shackles and a reciever hitch from bein a badass bumper.

Oh yeah, how much for the drag link?? :flipoff2:

whats wrong with the draglink...thats the one that came with the set of axles that i sold you.:flipoff2:

hey it gets the job done, but is fugly.....go hi steer or something...that steering has only been on the same draglink for years.

jk

like the bumper, mabye we can hook up sometime and go wheelin at tellico. i went crazy after selling you those axles, almost done with my setup.

it might have been fine for yours, every scout is different.

its about 2" short so i have an awesome right turning radius and a sucky left.

its also made for about 2 more inches of lift than i have so it sags a little

also, lol, the TRE's are welded on, so i have to get a new one cause one side went bad. and its not adjustable.

check out www.oldsouthoffroad.com and send me an email whenever you wanna ride.

i was just messin with ya, i didn't really like the draglink when i had it...another guy had made that draglink, nothing to terribly wrong with it. Except that there are better ways to have a draglink, i just didn't have money for hi steer.

your scout looks good, looks like you have put some battle scars on it from when i came by way back when.

ill check that site out.

have a good one.

i cant complain, it was free:D

yeah, quite a few battle scars have been added, im about to re-sheetmetal and paint the whole thing after i get the pinion and bumper finished

found a donor 73 with perfect front sheetmetal for $100

can't admit to fabbing it up, cus when i bought my scout it came with those axles and draglink...i sold them to James.

a lot of guys sheetmetal would probably look straight to you, your back quarter panel looks like it was loose leaf papered that was crumpled:D

Well see now, down har in the south, we aint got none o them rock thangs, so all we play in is mud, which dont mess up none o that there sheet metal.

so crunked up metal dont quite look right to us.:D

oh yeah, i think the z-link was crafted by a drunk beaver with good welding skills:D

Yup...that'll hold up at the mall ~ may even scare a couple people away from parking next to you.;)

Just kidding. That multi-mount winch idea is a great thing until your stuck between a rock and a hard place and you have to carry it (90 lbs for the winch alone) from the back (after lifting it out) to the front.:p :p :p

Let me know if you need a winch, I just got a great deal on some WARNs.

The Multi Mount winch is a good idea since you don't always want to go deeper into what your stuck in, plus if you have multiple trucks and one winch.

dont worry, there is never a lack of pictures.

and yes the bumper is mini-mall tested, and i hope to get it out to a supermall soon for extreme mall crawlin action.
