Quick question -- What's the front output spline count on a Dana 300? Is it compatable with the front yoke off of an NP231? Needing to mate it up to my XJ front driveshaft, and trying to find out if I can snag a yoke off an NP231 and use it on the D300 front output shaft?? Thanks!

Cool...Thanks for the info. I tried using a 231 front Yoke, and it will indeed slide on, but I believe it had too deep of splines to torque down properly, and the dust shield is fairly smaller than that of the D300 front yoke. After talking with a buddy, there is a spicer part # for a CV style yoke for the front D300 output...Anyone happen to have it handy? Need to get my hands on one tomorrow so I can wheel this weekend :D

Correct, It does have a 1310 yoke, but it's not a CV style yoke that would allow the use of my shortend XJ front driveshaft. The bolt pattern is smaller on the stock D300 front output.

Any other info on this? I've been trying to find the Spicer part # still. Anyone have it? If I can't track it down, it looks like I may be able to machine down the 231 yoke I have to make it work. Thanks!

Mine was a direct swap for a 93 231 tcase with a CV driveshaft.

Two years later it's still going.

Should be a direct swap. For reference (http://www.advanceadapters.com/acrobat/jp1980-86.pdf), the output is 1 1/8 26 spline on the D300.

I'm looking for the XJ yoke right now too.
