I plan on rebuilding my 3 speed t-case when i do my engine swap and i was wondering where was the best place to buy a rebuild kit from. I found one from TPI for $114 and was wondering if any one has used this kit and if it was any good.

If $114 includes all the bearings and seals, thats a good deal, but I doubt it does for that price.

What I do is order all the seals from the dealer, then get all the bearing numbers off the orginal bearings and go down to your local bearing supply shop and get them there for alot cheaper than you would at the dealer. Here in the Sacramento area, I go to Motion Industries.

It says that it comes with everything. That is why i was tentitive about ordering it because one from 4X4 conection was $225 and the small parts kit from SOR was $165

Cheaper quality bearings should last fine
but I would stay away from a cheap idler shaft and roller bearings, if those die premature you might have to kiss the whole t-case good-bye when the teeth start peeling off the idler gear.

I've seen it happen to a Cruiser and a few other makes.
I carry rebuild kits with good quality bearings and shaft but I still use factory Toyota seals when rebuilding

Sorry no advice on a US dealer for the kits.
Why not buy the bearings from a Bearing supplier and buy the shaft/roller bearing and seals from Toyota.

supriseingly parts are realitvely reasonable.

I recomend timken bearings when possible.

be advised that the bearing #'s on the bearings and races out of a stock t-case will not cross reference. i had to go to toyota, have the parts guy give me the new #'s (which was WAY cool of him, helps that he owns 3 cruisers) and then do some competitive shopping.
