As far as I'm concerned, she'll sit on her side of the bench with a seatbelt on. She can slide up next to me when I'm not driving.

Cake : Stickshifts and Safetybelts lyrics *

stickshifts and safetybelts,
bucket seats have all got to go.
when we're driving in the car,
it makes my baby seem so far.
i need you here with me,
not way over in a bucket seat.
i need you to be here with me,
not way over in a bucket seat.

but when we're driving in my malibu,
it's easy to get right next to you.
i say, "baby, scoot over, please."
and then she's right there next to me.
i need you here with me,
not way over in a bucket seat.
i need you to be here with me,
not way over in a bucket seat.

well a lot of good cars are japanese.
but when we're driving far,
i need my baby,
i need my baby next to me.

well, stickshifts and safetybelts,
bucket seats have all got to go.
when we're driving in the car,
it makes my baby seem so far.
i need you here with me,
not way over in a bucket seat.
i need you to be here with me,
not way over in a bucket seat.

I'll bet your passenger side springs are getting kind worn out with those heavy loads.

Come to Texas... It's all you'll see...

Speaking of, though....
Back in high school, my one buddy had a pickup (Single Cab chevy) and it was the three of us that were buddies and were always hanging out together. Well.. One night cruising the strip.. Him driving, me on the passenger side, and the other guy in the middle (Riding bitch cause he was shorter than us two) and we pull up to a light and next to us in her convertible Mustang was the chick that the driver had been hitting on for a while...
I duck down and put my head between my knees.

Now... close your eyes and picture it. Made it look like they were :rainbow: ya know...

She never talked to him after that.

Oh man....the *bench seat bitch* is a major bone of contention with me - thats where my Dad's *new* girlfriend sits - it makes me sick when I see her sitting there with her hand on my Dad's leg. Fawkin' Ho......

I just know my Mom's sittin' 'upstairs' shakin' her head at the incredible foolishness of it all :shaking:

EDIT: This in no ways means I think all chicks who sit in the middle of the bench seat are "bitches and ho's"....lol....I just don't like my Dad's new girlfriend. That spot is/was my Mom's :(

Now.. I dont get it.. what is wrong with having her sit Bitch?

Concerned for her safety? What about the kids that you would normally put in the Bitch seat in a pickup? What about the infants in their car seats? THey should be in Bitch position...

I guess I am just not following you guys... (and gals)

Well in reality you are right......I guess in my case it bugs the shit outta me cuz it makes me wanna puke when I see a 64 year old man driving around town with a 52 year old money-grabbing ho sitting beside him with her hand nestled in his crotch.

Fawk me....whatever happened to having a bit of decorum?

You really want to know?

Your dad wants his pole stroked by a young, sassy, slutty woman, and he's willing to pay. What's so hard to 'swallow' about that?

I say go for it old man, if it pisses the women in your life off, GO FOR IT!!!! :bounce: Old Man!

MM...I know how your feeling re your mom but let your dad have his fun. I'm sure he means no disrespect to mom, he's just trying to live his life.

I remember when all that was happening how concerned you were over your dad cause he was so despondent......let him be

When we bought the F-250, one of the first things that I asked the ole lady to do was to slide over and sit next to me(just being funny),.........that lasted less than half a block,......we both looked at each other and though "redneck",....."tacky" and she slide back to her side :D

Gimme a break.

Last year, Rip DeLips was at Casa Bobzooki, with his baby bro, and Cake came on the stereo (It's one of the 350 or so CD's on shuffle in the player), and he asked "Who's that?" Bro Brent was right on top of it. "Cake."

Well back in the early 80's when I was building my Nova a buddy of mine offered me a free set of matching buckets to replace the bench, I said "no thanks" and took out the 4 speed as well, after all I had better things to do with my right hand then shift.:laughing:

Saw them twice at the 9:30 Club in Dc in 99 or 98. I was somewhat dissapointed that they didn't jam/improvise more. The first and last song were long, jammy pieces and rocked. The other twelve songs sounded exactly like the studio cut. Still a great show, and worth seeing them.

Favorite Album: Motorcade of Generosity.

Favorite song: It's Coming Down
