I am planning on installing a 5.0 from an 87 grand marquis into my jeep. First I was wondering I know the 87 motor is roller but was there any difference that year between it and the mustang motor, I have a set of 94 mustang heads but dont want to put them on if there is no point. Second I have a t-5 in the jeep right now and would like to run it until I can get my nv4500 installed, (Time and funds), I have an aluminum bell out of a f-150 and I am pretty sure a t-5 wont bolt up, I was wondering the feasability of finding a mustang t-5 set up and using it. It could be a waste of my time but I am not sure, I know I should wait to get the nv4500 going but I really want to get it out in a hurry and thrash it a bit. Any help or opinions would be useful. Thanks

the mustang heads would be better. The GM heads are very restrictive compared to them. Also that GM engine may not be roller... Not all of the lines got them in 87 yet.

As for the tranny I have no idea so I won't even guess.

Not sure if I understand the gm part, I am a gm man but changed to ford for various reasons. I checked at ford and they said the motor should be roller and I tore it apart and saw that it was right, I am gonna go ahead and put the heads on, tearing the motor down anyways so might as well. Thanks.
