I am going to be in LA the week of the 11th of November and was wondering if I could pick your brain.

I wanted to go by and see the Cruisers at Specter, etc...

I've been wanting to see them as well but they are only open on weekdays. I live in San Diego and have just figured it's not worth fighting the traffic on a week day to go look at what they have. Bummer. Best of luck though.

Don't crash at anybody's crib in LA cuz its one helluva drive to San Fernando Valley. Chill out in some motel in Chatsworth area or Northridge. The Specter warehouse is on Nordhoff St. and its really easy to locate it. If you're driving I-5 south, take I-405 south then take Nordhoff St exit and at light, turn right and stay on the left side lane. If you pass DeSoto Ave then its only two more long blocks to the warehouse. It'll be on your left hand side.By the way, the owner is damn cool.

Two Cruiserhead friends of mine took me to Specter yesterday. They both knew Marv and introduced me to him. He is very cool. He took us on a tour of the shop, and showed us stuff we didn't even know existed. It was well worth dealing with the traffic on the way home. It gave us a chance to talk about all of the cool stuff we saw. I highly recommend going there.

Nolen,

If you have an afternoon meeting no problem. Be over there when Marv opens the door and no problem. In morning rush hour traffic I leave 1.5 to 2+ hours early for events I have to be at, it doesn't always take that long, but occasionally it does. All of the traffic pools at the Sepulveda Pass on the S 405 and hence it can take ALOT of time. I heard somewhere that the average speed at rush hour was down in the high teens MPH, if it rains or someone farts expect it to go down to 5- 10 MPH range. TRAFFIC SUCKS, thats why THEY pay 20% more to work LA metro AREA, ie burbank,Santa Monica, Century City...

Also if you got another person to go with you the Car Pool lanes on the e 118 and s 405 can really save time . We have people using Dummies in the sleeping position to try and satisfy the 2 person per car or one motorcycle requirement for car pool lane. Tickets starts @ $221.00

Give me a call, I live right down the 405 a mile or so. I'll take you up and introduce you to Marv plus I know the shortcuts. It's about a 25 minute drive non rush hour but during rush hour who knows. What time is your meeting and how long are you staying?

hey nolan! stop by TLC if you have enough time, some pretty cool stuff there also, and less than 1/2 hour from spectre.
