Looks like they can't be inverted for minimal backspacing, so are centers made that would be deep enough to make small backspacing possible? They look great btw.

What keeps the inside bead from sliding off.... air pressure? Or is there some sort of spacer that goes between the inner and outer beads like the 'other DOT beadlock'?

There is no spacer. The "lock" only occurs on the outter bead. You can however order the wheels with the inner bead lock as well. If that did not answer your question, then I did not understand what the question was..... Feel free to give me a ring if you need some more clarifiaction.

Probably the fact that the bead is pinched between 2 pieces of steel.

Inside bead, the bead on the vehicle side of the wheel, the side that doesn't get armor-all when you clean your ride, the side that isn't pinched between two pieces of steel.... :goofball:

In the second picture on the first page of this thread, the wheel pictured doesn't appear to have a retention bead for the inside of the tire. Maybe I'm missing something.... what keeps the inside bead from rolling off. I've had beadlocks and when at low pressures I lost an inside bead or two, and the MRT's that I had still had a retention bead on the inside of the wheel just like a conventional non-beadlock wheel. Air down to 5psi with the wheel pictured and try to drive and you won't make it far before that 5psi of air pressure find it's way to the outside of the tire. ;) Outside, that's the side you see when you look at it on the wheel. :flipoff2: What's the point of having beadlocks if you can't air down? Not dissin' PIG's wheels, I'm just not seeing how the tire will stay inflated at low pressure.

Exactly How does the inner bead stay sealed?

When I ran 12.50 tires on a 10.50" beadlock that was flipped occasionally I could hear air leaking out of the inner bead. What stops the same thing from happening here?

The inner bead is the same as stock....... If you have a big problem leaking/blowing air out of the inner bead get double locks...... or run a narrower rim.

I think I get it now. If the tire is mounted on there without the outer ring bolted into place, the tire will still hold air and be like a normal wheel and tire. The outer ring just bolts on and keeps the tire from comming off the rim. Kinda like a blocker, not a locker. Maybe I'm wrong though.

no, not quite. the bolt on ring clamps the bead to the lip on the wheel.

I would like to have a set of four, and want 2.5" backspacing with 6 on 5.5 spacing. These wheels, manufactured by GOUDY WHEEL are NOT DOT approved, .......YET (it's still in the works).

The wheels however, DO comply to all of the DOT requirements (load rating etc....). I am told (from the actual manufacture GOUDY WHEEL) that the lock does comply to the regulations due to a loop hole set fourth by the approval of the hummer wheel. I am working on getting more documantation from the manufactre soon.

If you go for the inner lock, its gonna be a standard weld on style lock.... not the patent pending DOT design. This due to the wheel design (same reason flipped center wheels cant use the DOT compliant lock) also, there could be some serious clearance issues with calipers.

Yes and where at (slo or the gay bay)?

You should get AL this time and are you sure you want 17x12's and not 17x10's

*Bling Bling*

What about set of AL with 2.5" BS to 94550? Is it possible to get AL with this offset?

These wheels, manufactured by GOUDY WHEEL are NOT DOT approved, .......YET (it's still in the works).

The wheels however, DO comply to all of the DOT requirements (load rating etc....). I am told (from the actual manufacture GOUDY WHEEL) that the lock does comply to the regulations due to a loop hole set fourth by the approval of the hummer wheel. I am working on getting more documantation from the manufactre soon.

What's the status? Have they been approved yet?

Not for me. for a street rig just get some fake ones. those don't have enough inner area for the bead to sit for my taste.

I am wondering with the double beadlock option. Is it the same as the single just on both sides? If so will a 15" wheel with the doubles fit over D44 brakes? Also I would like to see pics of a wheel that has the double option from the tires point of view. I am very interested in 15"x10" 3 1/2" backspace (or close to) and the double beadlocks. Please quote to 95829 or if close to Sac I can P/U.

Thank you,
