Does anyone know much about these medium duty truck transmissions? There was a direct drive and an overdrive version, but don't know how to tell difference from outside. Thinking about using one in my divorced 205 crew cab...

You mean the IH T-19 and T-22?

T-19 was direct, T-22 OD.

No idea how to tell 'em apart, or even ID that it's a T-19/T-22 5spd other than this, from AllanW -

New Process model 540

* Has right and left PTO opening
* Has Aluminum 1 piece shift cover with integral shift tower
* Has 4 bolt aluminum rear countershaft bearing retainer
* May also be found in Dodge trucks

I *do* have pics of my T-35 or T-36 direct 5th 5spd. I haven't counted to see if it's the 7.17:1 1st or 6.21:1 1st.

I acquired it for my Travelette.. came from a Loadstar.

How much of a overdrive did they use?

I don't have the specs of the NP 5spds.

The IH built 5spds used a .823 OD.

IMO, the OD 5spd is worthless. Give me a direct-in-5th any day.
