: another what's it worth (axles) thread
Rockabilly 11-13-2003, 07:21 AM I'm toying with the idea of sellling my scout 44s and going one ton running gear. So here's what I got front and rear 80 scout II 44s set up for hi-steer and hydro assist in front cut and turned soa setup 5.89 gears ARB in rear and detroit up front plus a cute little ARB compressor. So what do you guys think is a good selling price.
RustoleumWhite 11-13-2003, 08:44 AM I'll haul them away for you :D
Ok, Ok..... I'll give you $100 for the effort of takeing them out.
:flipoff2:
total up the $$ in part you have put into it, then take about 50%, then add in the basic going rate for a set of Scout D44's, add a little cushin for "luck and barter room" and post them for sale in the classifieds and on the BB.
RustoleumWhite 11-13-2003, 08:55 AM O, ya, factor in your location and how easy it is for people to meet up with you....
if you were willing to meet people in say the seattle area... that would increase your chances rather than out in your neck of the woods....

Joe V 11-14-2003, 11:09 AM I'd say $700- 1k is market. I would put them on ebay and see what happens. I've also had good luck on JeepForums.com.
snoop dogg 11-14-2003, 12:46 PM i sold my axles setup SOA, cut and turned knuckles, 3.54 gears, detroit rear and lockrite up front, with draglink and tie rod.
I got $900 for that.
I also sold a 6 lug 1979 waggy i think was the year, anyway Waggy dana 44 with 4.10s brand new lockrite, 1 old hub and 1 new hub (warns) and a spare brand new warn hub. Extra diff cover, tie rod and draglink for $500
And i sold a rear 60 with 6 lug waggy drums turned into the tubes with 4.10s and a detroit for $500.
All of these axles were used and i don't even think painted. Just to give you a measurement i guess.
Snoopy 11-16-2003, 05:51 PM Snoopy's original axle setup pulled $1700 w/ shipping
They were 4.89 gears, Detroit TrueTrac rear, TrachLock front, just rebuilt, new brakes, etc.

Yes they were ~ but everything in them was new. I had them listed for $1700, but ended up selling them for $1500 and split the shipping.
Actually, the *guy* that bought them was a lady, and a porn *star* ~ the axles were exactly what she wanted for her Jeep and I guess there's some money in that profession.
That was over 2 years ago ~
