I don't know what this thing is called. The names I keep hearing are "Pig Run" and "War Pigs on the Con". Both sound kinda dorky. Actually, there is usually an expletive somewhere in there, but I can't say that here.
So far the FJ55 drivers I believe are going:
Luke Porter
Alan Lunghi
Don "fc187"
"Screwzer"
"bkcruiser"
Bill Jackson
Me
Brian Sullivan's boss
Jake "YoungDogs"
W. Harrold
Eric Lint
James Spohn
Thomas Male
Greg Dyche
Dale "55 guy" Knorr
Much as this has been billed an FJ55 event, there will be some other land cruisers there. Rumor has it an FJ55 riding on an FZJ80 chassis will be doing the trail!
Other people who will be there:
Henry Brimmer
Mark Whatley
Max Balmain
Gary Kardum
Brian Sullivan
Nick Demarest
Maybe more. Maybe you!
Loon Lake dam, Saturday the 20th, 8AM to 9AM. Be there!

For sure. We'll have the Managing Eitor and a Technical Editor there in Henry Brimmer and Mark Whatley, plus Max Balmain is a photojournalist for a WA newspaper.

COUNTDOWN!
5 hours to go here at work....
Haven't been there before and will be coming from Auburn. Is it better to go in 193 from Cool to Georgetown to Loon, or better to go all the way to 50 and Strawberry?

You're a local, I'm a flatlander, so my directions might not be so useful. I go 50 all the way east until Ice House Rd., left on Ice House, then a loooong drive on a twisty, hilly forest road to the end of the line: Loon Lake dam. There are a couple forks, just keep your eyes open. Allow for about an hour's drive from the turn onto Ice House Rd. Of course, my judgement's skewed: My FJ55's got a 2F and big fat tires. It doesn't get anywhere fast.
See you there! I'm hoping to get out of Oakland by 3PM.

I’m leaving work in about an hour, then doing a brake job on the wife’s van. Should leave Loomis around 5pm.
Screwzer – Since I’ve never entered from Georgetown (that I remember), I may just ‘suck-it up’ and go 80 to Auburn (49) to 50N to Icehouse road. (Which is way longer.) If I were getting an earlier start, I would probably try 80 to 49 to Cool to Loon.

After hearing from you and Morgan, that may be the way I go too. I'm a Rubicon virgin, so easiest way in sounds the best to me. Probably can get gas a little closer to the trail as well.
Got Screwzer in at a shop getting timing and carb dialed in, I'll pick it up at 3 get my buddies and hopefully be in Auburn by 5:30 and headed out.
See ya all there!

Good Luck All! If it weren't for a death in my wife's family, I'd be seeing you all tomorrow. I even had the car packed already. DARN! Until next time!
Later!
