On the 29th of this month we are opening our home to everyone for a pot luck style post Thanksgiving meal.
We started doing this last year for fellow military type people who were not able to go home for Thanksgiving.
We will provide the turkey and stuffing and a few other things(beer) and you bring a dish to share.
So if you want to come by to get your turkey fix just let us know.
We plan on having dinner around 5pm.:D

When we were a Military Family, we started the tradition - our home was open to anybody, on every holiday. There was always somebody in the barracks that couldn't make it home. We had some BIG feasts! Good for your karma! Even though my folks are both gone, we still continue the tradition.

 to you!

we do that every Christmas Eve at my house, there's always friends in town that would like to get away from their real families and drink a few and relax so we have a open door policy.

Just putting this up again for those who may not have seen it the first time.
I also encourage those of you around military bases to open your homes to some of these people who because of duty cannot be with their families during this time. Just as a way to say thank you:usa:

Well, my door is always open. That is also a military tradition/holdover. Of course, I don't drink these days and I don't really want you sitting around swilling beer in my house :D so I don't know how many want to come, but, if anyone does, it's open. :D

Did that all the time while I was in the Navy. I even took it a step farther. I brought them to Mom's for Turkey Day.

I couldn't get a rental car (all sold out!) and I haven't had time to anything but work so my Toy is sitting broke. I'm staying here instead of driving back to CT. But that's OK since everybody here eats with everybody else a couple times on turkey day.

Opening up your house for dinner like that is very cool. Mucho respect from me.;)
