:eek: That's pretty fawkin sad! So if was the ignition switch, which have had a history of problems (fires) can you get any restitution from Ford?

Even though just about every thing Ford has ever made is total crap, they only recalled ignition switches on a few vehicles. The switch in my old (very) Sable burst into flames three seperate times. Now, the switches at the time were recalled on Ford Tarus's for the flaming problems, but not on the Mercury Sable. THEY ARE THE SAME FAWKIN VEHICLE

I had a '90 Taurus. Got a recall notice one day expalining that the bolts/bushings holding the subframe to the car were crap and that the subframe could potenially fall out while driving. Took it in, picked it up the next night, and there were 2 pages worth of recalls they had done to it. Replace the cat (at 160k miles :D), seatbelts, subframe bolts, etc. Guess thats why they were the best selling car for a few years, yet strangely you don't see that many on the road. Oh yeah, the driver's door was starting to rot though after 10 years. Good thing I only paid $600 for it.
