I know a few people that run the Klune V and they are the Shiat. Simple and strong, what ratio you gonna get?

For $3500 or whatever insane price those thigns are going for, he'd better get the 4:1 :flipoff2:

I was looking at the 4.1 instead of an atlas in my toyota just using the dana 300 and upgrade the rear output shaft

Go for it!!!!
I plan on getting one eventually, too. 4:1 of course. They are $1950 plus any adapters that may be required. Go to their website(sorry i don't remember what it is, but just run a search for Klune Industries), and there is a list of adapters required for particular trannies and cases. For a SM465-NP205 like i have, i need to spend another $650 in adapters, so i will be around $2700 for the setup.
Good Luck!

When I put the Klune in my rig (little over a year ago) I read in some of thier stuff that they claim nobody had ever broken one to date.
I beat the crap out of mine and it's holding fine.
FWIW thier customer service is top notch.
Save money on adapters by changing out the stuff it's bolted to. I.E. a different transfer case with the 6 bolt round bolt pattern is probably much cheaper than the adapter.:)

buddy of mine broke his. he had the 4:1 behind a dodge nv4500 and np231. there customet service was real dope, and they refunded his $$$ and he got an atlas. i believe he blew up the output....cant remember exactly tho....does anyone remember their ads a while back, saying if you get one, its reccomended not to use too much throttle through the klune??? maybe that was due to a flaw they have since fixed. anyway, just a FYI post.....brad

If your buddy broke one of the first ones, say 2 or 3 years ago, then I believe that problem has been addresed. They used only 3 planetary gears in the first version, and have since changed to six. I heard this through the grapevine, so if anyone knows for sure, please back me up...

A cheaper option would be to run a toyota reduction box infront of the D-300, expecially if you have a toyata transmission. You could run 2.28, 4, or 4.7:1 gears in the toyota box, or run dual toy reduction boxes for all kinds of weird combinations

Ne roktoy what im looking at is keeping my stock 22re and w56 trans with toyota reduction box. I have the ott toyota to dana 300 adapter and an atlas 4.33 and I thinking of the klune v just to go slow ive had jeeps in the 200 to 1 and liked them . I just recently sold every spare piece of 4x4 stuff I had to start a new lightweight toyota ( Im hoping for around 3200 lbs ) with a dana 44 front and 9" rear rockcrawler project I just want to go slow even if it really serves no purpose so Ive found over about 250 to 1 it just a thing . I am having to increse strength for every increase and still stay fairly light thats whats attractive about the klune at 40 lbs and a 2 year warranty to boot.
