Hey guys. I need a friendly Aussie to do me a favor. I need a Cruiser part, I have friends in Sydney but they are not really mechanically inclined. I was hoping somebody could find a part for me and I could have them come pick it up or something. Or maybe somebody could just get me the name and address of a shop/yard that has what I need. I need a 10 spline input shaft for an H55 tranny. This would be from something that had a 2F most likely, or an H (not HZ). Thanks.
Try www.4x4parts.com.au. (http://www.4x4parts.com.au.) I get my parts from there. I have also heard Lunds are pretty good and cheap, but I don't have their address. Go Yahoo!

That link is not working right now. I have contacted several places in Oz, but very few will return my e-mails. They are thoroughly not interested in helping me at all. They must not think I'm serious. Thanks though, I'll try to look for more on the web.

Thanks Rick, this is actually for the guy who is buying my H55. I'll ask him if the price is right and get back to you.

I was in Australia in May looking for the exact same part and was unable to find just the mainshaft. The going ballpark figure was $250 AU bucks and an additional $50 AU for the bearing retainer. Try Landvehichle spares in Greenacre (a suburb of Sydney) as they were the best bet that I found. Oh yeah in the end I bought a later model short shaft with a 19 spline (or is it 16 spline)from the rear of a HZ diesel and it still looks beautiful sittng on my work bench! <IMG SRC="smilies/biggrin.gif" border="0">
Yeah, they can be a little lazy with the reply. Best to give them a call during Aus business hours and tell them you emailed them.
I am currently going through yards for parts for my Hilux (pickup)
if you want i can have a look

Try motorcare.com/au. Send them a e-mail telling them what you are looking for. I got a wing window gasket from them that Toyota discontinued. Their site lists only a small portion of what they have, you have to ask.
