I have a question for you Chevy guys that I hope you can answer. First let me set things up...I have a 1983 CJ that I'm building doing a SOA lift and using a 73 Chevy 1/2 D44 front and 14 bolt rear that I'm going to Narrow to 58 inches. I got a good deal on the D44 front but it was missing the calipers, caliper mounts, backing plates,hub/rotors and spindles. I plan on using a 1979 Ford (yuck) F-150 hub/rotors to retain my 5x5 1/2 bolt pattern Now for my Questions??
1.) Will the 3/4 ton backing plates,caliper mounts work with the 1/2 ton calipers?
2.) What years parts can I use I was told only 73-early77?
3.) Will the Corp. front backing plates and caliper mounts work?
4.) What is a good source for the parts I need

P.S. I also run a 350 tpi and a 400 turbo tranny.

1. You will have to use the 1/2 ton plates with the 5 on 51/2 rotor, the 3/4 plates are larger but will accept the 1/2 caliper.
2. Use the early 73-76 spindles that way the ford rotors will fit.
3. Backing plates and cal mounts are the same thing on chevy and yes they will work.
4. ? Where ever you find good junk

1. Use the 1/2 ton chevy caliper brackets the 3/4 ton are a little larger due to the 3/4 ton rotors being larger.
2. You can use any chevy 1/2 ton front parts just make sure you use the "Small Bearing" spindle so you can use the Ford hub to keep the 5.5 pattern using Timken bearing kits 37 & 45 for the hub.
3. Good source for parts is www.Ebay.com
