I have a Dana 44 out of an IH 1/2T truck. It has the flat top knuckles that i want for hysteer, but they are the 8 bolt ones.

I am going to have to buy new discs, and calipers. Do they still sell these at auto parts stores? Are they that expensive?

Would I be better off to switch it all over to Ford outers?

I do want to stay with 5x5.5 so i can be compatible with the rear Dana 60.

Thanks in advance

is that a disc front end???

If it is, then yes, you can get brake parts. I *belive* the 1/2T P/U stuff is the same as Scout, but not sure. If its internal style hubs, then I would bet they are simular if not identical to Ford stuff.

Best thing to do: is trade with a Scouter. The 8-bolt stuff is desirable because is allows us to retain the stock brakes we've already invested in, yet still concider high-steer as a SO option.

I'm sure someone out there is willing to trade strait across for a set of 6-bolt GM style knuckles....

I'm running scout spindles and knuckles on my D44. You have plenty of options for the brakes - use the ones that are already on them or - I'm running redrilled Chevy D44 backing plates, chev calipers, CJ7 rotors and the stock scout hubs.

Yes it does have disc brakes!

So It does sound like the brakes will not be a problem, Thanks.

The only other problem is. When I took apart the hubs, the one side had some broken parts in it. (the plastic piece that holds the roller bearings) Can I still buy parts to fix this?

Thanks again.

LOL When it's up! The Binder Bulletin site has been going down on a regular basis for a while now. The Boys over there might not be too frendly having a rare late model Disc brake frt 44 go under a Jeep.
