I think I need to bid on it. Man, these things were tons of fun.
SilverZuk 11-20-2003, 10:29 AM Yep, lots of fun.
All mine were clear red plastic.
Always heard tales of alka seltzer in them, but never tried it.
We never had alka seltzer around the house, I guess Dad knew that I would feed them to the dog, birds, try to blow stuff up.
mobil1syn 11-20-2003, 10:30 AM those things were awesome

Air jammers
My mom pulled one of my old ones a while back for my niece to play with. A seal or something was blown and it no longer holds air:(

Air Hogs?
How about these, the little aluminum dart things that you'd put a cap in the nose, toss 'em up in the air and they'd BANG when they hit the ground?
SanDiegoCJ 11-20-2003, 10:38 AM I used to play with these a lot. :D :D

ForestCam 11-20-2003, 10:41 AM We used to take the little 99¢ rockets (well they were when I was a kid) and fill the rest of the tube ahead of the motor with gunpowder and superglue the nose cone in.:D
Crucible 11-20-2003, 10:50 AM Water rockets have sure grown up since I was a kid:

Third one down ($57) goes is a two-stage (!) that goes to 600'!
Here's a pretty decent page showing how to make a simple rocket:
http://www.orgsites.com/va/bristolwaterrockets/
Those are neat, but I like these-copies of medevil and earlier artillery:
www.catapultkits.com
I have thier Roman mangonel kit
http://www.mangonel.com/kit/mangonel.html
....surprisingly it works well and can hurl a golf ball 100' or so just using the power of twisted rope.
I'd really like to build one of thier trebuchets though:

Erich In AZ 11-20-2003, 10:58 AM Today is like a step back to the past! First i see Wuzzles, now this! I had the rockets, the car that was air powered AND the metal rocket/cap thingys. Dayum! :D
Next, we are going to start talking about the Fraggles again!
Damage, Inc. 11-20-2003, 12:02 PM I loved the water rockets!! Mine was clear red and a white plastic. Tough things, too. Never broke it, ever. I bought one recently for the boy and it broke on the 3rd flight...plus it didn't fly for shit. TOYS THESE DAYS ARE SHIT.
Model rocketry is awesome, too. Did that for a couple years in 4-H (yeah...I said 4-H). Don't buy the 3 stage jobbers...you never find the second stage!! :D

I had one of those. Never did get it to work. The top stage always blasted off when I was pumping it up.
